Chapter 309 Sophia's Notebook
Hearing his daughter's teasing, Sean became unusually embarrassed.
He felt his face burning, touched his head, and tried to hide his embarrassment.
"So," he muttered softly, trying to find a topic to ease the awkwardness, "why did you come here?"
When Sophia heard this question, she was clearly struck by something that interested her, and her eyes lit up immediately.
The expressions on their faces also became more vivid.
"Dad," she leaned closer and said mysteriously, "Mom got jealous, so she used the time-travel converter to come back here."
"Jealous?" Sean's eyebrows shot up sharply, clearly not expecting such an answer. He hadn't fully processed the information yet, and was wondering why Hermione would suddenly be "jealous," when Sophia interrupted him with her next sentence.
"She wanted to—" Sophia was about to continue, but Sean paused, quickly interrupting, "Wait, your mother's here too?"
Sophia stopped, a helpless expression on her face, as if she had expected Sean to react this way.
She rolled her eyes, sighed softly, and said in a slightly teasing tone, "Didn't I just say that?"
Sean realized his rudeness and quickly waved his hand in apology, his face showing obvious embarrassment. "Sorry, sorry, I didn't react for a moment." He scratched the back of his head, trying to appear natural, but he couldn't hide the shock in his heart.
Hermione's back too?
This suddenly made things much more interesting.
if....
Suppressing his surprise, Sean eagerly pressed, "Then where is she now?"
Sophia looked at Sean with a smug smile on her face.
She took a slow sip of tea, deliberately keeping everyone in suspense, before slowly saying, "I guess she's probably experiencing her long-lost campus life right now."
"So one—"
"So, shouldn't you leave with your mother?" Sean's soul finally broke free from the memories of the afternoon.
He looked at his "well-behaved and clever" daughter in front of him, trying to regain some rationality and calmness. His tone was calm, but with a hint of helplessness.
Sofia tilted her head back, blinked, and a sly smile appeared in her eyes, clearly indicating that she did not intend to leave so soon.
She had an innocent and harmless appearance, but Sean knew that the girl was obviously much smarter than she seemed.
"Oh dear, Daddy, are you trying to get rid of me so soon?" she said, feigning grievance, her lips slightly upturned, her tone carrying a hint of mischief and coquetry.
Sean smiled helplessly. Although he wanted to be serious, his defenses softened involuntarily in the face of her expression. "That's not what I meant, it's just," he sighed, his voice tinged with weariness, "that things have progressed a little too quickly."
"What do you mean 'developed too fast'? You and Mom just...
To prevent Sophia from seeing or hearing anything inappropriate for children, Sean cast an isolation spell on the wardrobe before the battle.
But even if the other party didn't see or hear it, they probably guessed what he was doing.
Being confronted about something by one's own daughter would be embarrassing even for someone as thick-skinned as Sean.
What just happened wasn't his fault; it was mainly Hermione's fault for being too proactive.
This is how Sean made excuses for himself.
Seeing Sean's embarrassed appearance, Sophia burst out laughing.
"Dad, I didn't know anything just now—I didn't know that Mom turned into Aunt Tonks last semester..."
Oh no, this is even more embarrassing. Sean wished he could disappear into a crack in the ground.
"Okay, okay, you win." Sean raised his hands in surrender, forcing a nonchalant smile. "But next time, could you... not bring this up?"
"Of course—" Sofia paused, then suddenly changed the subject, "but I'll be staying here for a while."
"Stay here?"
Seeing Sean's puzzled expression, Sophia couldn't help but chuckle softly, then explained earnestly, "Yes,"
"Dad, it's summer vacation now in the future, and I don't have much to do, so I'm asking you—you in the future—to come and stay here for a while."
"So, you came here with my permission?"
Sofia nodded quickly, then smiled faintly.
"What are you planning to do here?" Sean asked, a feeling creeping into his mind that things weren't going to be that simple.
Sophia blinked, a sly smile appearing on her face, as if she had anticipated Sean's reaction. "Well, actually, I'd like to take advantage of this time to attend school in your current timeline for two months."
"Go to school?" Sean frowned, his mind filled with questions. "You're already from the future, why would you want to study in the present timeline?"
Sophia reached out and touched her chin, pretending to think, then smiled and said, "Dad, you know, learning is a never-ending process. Besides, I think it would be interesting to experience the atmosphere of Hogwarts in the past timeline, especially since you're my professor now. The future Hogwarts is quite different from the present Hogwarts, and I want to experience life here."
Sean was both amused and exasperated by her explanation; his daughter's abrupt shifts in thought caught him off guard. "Are you serious? You really plan to stay here for two months?"
"Of course I'm serious!" Sophia nodded, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "Besides, your future self has already agreed to my plan. I just need you to help me with the enrollment procedures now. You're a professor at Hogwarts anyway, surely you can do this little favor?"
Looking at her expectant expression, Sean felt a pang of helplessness. She clearly had a well-thought-out plan, and the fact that his future self had agreed left him with little room for objection.
"So, I have to process your enrollment now?" Sean asked somewhat helplessly, feeling a headache coming on from this sudden "task".
"That's right! I'll act just like the other students." Sophia smiled smugly. "I promise I won't cause any trouble. After all, you're my teacher, and I wouldn't dare to create trouble for myself."
Sean sighed helplessly, feeling that his life was completely out of control—from Hermione's sudden appearance to his future daughter barging in, and now he had to help her with her school enrollment procedures.
He had no choice but to accept this reality.
"Alright, I'll help you with the enrollment procedures, but you have to remember—don't cause me any trouble." Sean finally relented, his tone tinged with helplessness.
But deep down he had a vague sense of anticipation and curiosity about how his future daughter would integrate into the current life at Hogwarts.
Sofia smiled brightly, patting her flat chest as she assured him, "Don't worry, Dad, I definitely won't let you down!"
Since Sophia had nowhere to stay, she would have to spend the night in Sean's office. Sean, though resigned,
But he tried his best to act natural. He knew things were extremely complicated, but no matter how uncomfortable he was, he had to let his daughter get a good night's sleep.
"You go to sleep first, this will be our home tonight," he said to Sophia with a smile, then walked to the cabinet and found some spare bedding.
Sophia watched her father's busy figure, a faint warmth appearing on her face. She sat on the edge of the bed, fiddling with her wand in her hand, seemingly casually, but her eyes would occasionally fall on Sean, with a cautious concern in them.
After making the bed, Sean clapped his hands and gave what he thought was a relaxed smile: "I'll leave the bed for you, I'll sleep on the sofa."
"You don't need to be so polite, Dad." Sophia winked playfully, though she said it, she was clearly pleased with her father's thoughtfulness. She gently jumped onto the bed and buried herself in the soft blankets.
Sean smiled, feeling a sense of comfort. Seeing his daughter so relaxed and at ease eased his tension considerably. No matter how complicated things were, the warmth between father and daughter still brought him peace of mind.
He turned and walked to the sofa, let out a long sigh, and slowly lay down. The sofa wasn't particularly spacious, but it was enough for him tonight.
He stared wearily at the ceiling, his thoughts beginning to wander.
So many unexpected things happened throughout the day: her future daughter suddenly visited and decided to attend school there for a while; her future wife Hermione suddenly...; and she learned about her future circumstances.
Looking back on it all, Sean felt a sense of unreality, as if everything had changed overnight.
He shifted his body slightly, and the sofa made a soft groan.
He forced himself to stop thinking about it, but the image of his battle with Hermione kept replaying in his mind.
How will I handle these things in the future?
Sean muttered to himself, his hand unconsciously resting on his forehead, his eyes staring blankly at the ceiling.
Furthermore, why would my future self allow my daughter to come and "borrow" a place to study?
Everything seemed fraught with uncertainty, and he had absolutely no clue what to do.
Exhaustion gradually crept into his body, and the questions and thoughts in his mind intertwined, but were ultimately defeated by the heavy drowsiness.
Sean's eyelids grew heavier and heavier, and his breathing gradually became even.
Just as Sean was about to fall into a deep sleep, Sophia on the bed suddenly pulled a small notebook out of her pocket and quietly flipped through it.
She moved quietly, afraid of disturbing her already exhausted father.
In the dim light, the pages of the notebook slowly turned at her fingertips, clearly indicating that some important information was swirling in her mind.
Her gaze lingered on the last line of the notebook, where the words were prominently written in bright red ink:
"Help Mom express her feelings to Dad so they can be together... and let Mom..."
However, the writing abruptly ends here, and the following content seems to have been deliberately written on the next page.
Sofia stared at the words, a slightly sly smile playing on her lips.
