Chapter 120 120
Chapter 120 120
Professor McGonagall is explaining the knowledge of Animagus to everyone.
Harry wasn't really listening.
Professor McGonagall transformed into a tabby cat in front of the whole class, with a ring of circular patterns around her eyes, which were traces of Professor McGonagall's glasses.
"What's wrong with you all today?" Professor McGonagall suddenly transformed back into her original form and, noticing everyone's obviously distracted state, asked, "This is the first time my transformation hasn't elicited any gasps of surprise."
Many people turned to look at Harry, but no one spoke.
Hermione raised her hand. "Professor, we just had our first class, Divination. Professor Trelawney asked us to interpret tea leaves, but the result..."
"I see," Professor McGonagall frowned. "Miss Granger, besides, please tell me, which of you will die?"
The students stared at Professor McGonagall in surprise; her tone suggested she didn't seem to like Professor Trelawney very much either.
Landric watched as Harry stood up and calmly said, "Me."
A flicker of displeasure crossed Professor McGonagall's eyes. She glanced at Harry and said, "Potter, I should tell you something. Professor Trelawney has been predicting the death of a student almost every year since she came to Hogwarts. Perhaps her way of welcoming a new class is through a death omen."
Laughter erupted instantly.
Professor McGonagall continued, "Every student who was prophesied by Professor Trelawney is still alive and well."
"If I could, I actually wouldn't want to tell my colleagues..."
Harry gradually felt relieved.
Landric looked down intently at Animagus's notes, one hand resting on the desk, clenching and unclenching repeatedly.
Draco looked at Landric's serious expression and a sense of foreboding flashed through his mind.
"Brother, you don't want to transform yourself, do you?"
Landric glanced up at Draco, chuckled lightly to reassure him, "Do I think I'm that stupid? I was just wondering if Professor McGonagall's dissatisfaction was really only directed at Trelawney?"
Draco seemed to suddenly realize something, and gave a slightly sympathetic smirk.
Professor McGonagall paused again, then joked in a gentle tone, "In my opinion, every one of us young wizards here is perfectly healthy. So, to brighten everyone's mood, we won't have a paper today. I assure you, if you really do die, you'll never have to hand in any assignments again."
Landric's eyes lit up. "Little Dragon, we don't have homework today."
Draco: Where did you learn this lazy personality from?
Everyone felt a bit more relaxed.
After the transformation class ended, they followed the crowd noisily to the auditorium for dinner.
"Harry, cheer up. You heard what Professor McGonagall said," Hermione said, pushing a chicken leg in front of Harry.
Harry still had some doubts, but ultimately chose to believe Hermione's words.
Hermione's bracelet beeped, and Harry gave her a look, gesturing for her to look at it. Hermione swallowed the last bite of her food, stood up, told Harry she was going to the bathroom, and ran out to find a secluded corner to unlock her bracelet.
Harry: Hermione, I actually did see a big black dog.
Hermione: Maybe Trelawney's prophecy is true, or maybe it's false.
Harry: But... will I die?
Hermione: Do you want to die? I know what you're thinking, isn't it that prophecy from when you were born? And how can you be sure that prophecy wasn't man-made?
Harry slowed down his eating pace in the Great Hall. Fortunately, the bracelet that Landric was researching had an anti-peeping function, so no one could see his chat box unless he wanted to.
Was it man-made? He can't fully understand what happened back then.
Hermione: I don't know what you mean by letting me out. We can easily find a time to talk.
Harry chuckled: I'm impatient, I like to eat cold tofu.
Meanwhile, in Gryffindor, a scene unfolded that Hermione considered somewhat idiotic.
Over in Slytherin.
Draco was dedicated to stacking towers on the plates of the people next to him.
Landric was uninterested, stopping after a couple of bites. "I think the divination class is like a mess," he said.
"right"
After lunch.
Draco seemed quite pleased to have class outside the castle, his steps even becoming lighter.
He walked down the slope toward Hagrid's hut beside the Forbidden Forest, cursing as he went, "Brother, I hate Hagrid so much, you have no idea..."
Landric sighed, "Fine."
Hagrid stood in front of the cabin waiting for the students, still dressed in the same outfit.
His hunting dog, Tooth, wagged its tail like a propeller.
"Come on, come on, hurry up, we have something good to show you."
Draco, upon hearing this, still looked disdainful, but his pace noticeably quickened.
Landric shook his head; he was always saying one thing and meaning another.
Landric indulged Draco's speed; when Draco was fast, he would go fast, and when he slowed down, he would slow down as well.
"Is everyone here?"
Draco was about to reach them when he suddenly stopped, his face filled with panic. "Brother, isn't he going to send us to the Forbidden Forest?"
Landric stared blankly at the person who seemed to have suddenly fallen ill and was hiding behind him, then clenched his fist.
With a thud, Draco clutched his head.
"Playing the victim isn't for you. Get out of here."
"Oh"
Hagrid waved to everyone, "Quickly, everyone gather in front of this fence, and then open your textbooks."
"How do I open it?" Draco asked Hagrid lazily.
"what?"
He impatiently picked up the book, "The Book of Monsters," which was tied with rope, and repeated, "How do we open the textbook?"
One by one, everyone took out their textbooks.
Hagrid looked around, somewhat disappointed, and asked, "None of you...none of you were able to open it?"
Everyone shook their heads.
"Alright, everyone, now follow my lead. First, you need to stroke them..."
Hagrid took Hermione's book and tore the string off it.
The textbook suddenly opened its mouth and was about to bite down on Hagrid's large fingers.
Hagrid ran his index finger down the spine of the book, and the textbook obediently opened.
Draco was speechless. "It makes us all look like idiots."
He looked up and saw that his brother's textbooks were already open.
Draco: ...How did you do that?
A ball of fire appeared in Landric's hand as he brought his fingers close to the book.
The monster book trembled twice and then immediately unfolded in front of Landric.
Draco looked at Landric with admiration, then smugly surveyed the crowd.
Everyone, feel it!
Everyone was puzzled, everyone observed, everyone suddenly realized, and everyone followed suit.
