Chapter 252 Extra: One Day in 1990
1990 8 Month 19 Day.
Devonshire, England.
early morning.
Luna was sitting at the dining table, listlessly eating her breakfast.
Today is the third day since Sean left.
Whenever she thinks about this, she feels a little lost.
Even the honey lemon black tea she's recently become obsessed with tastes bland and tasteless.
Mrs. Pandora keenly noticed the change in her daughter.
She became depressed ever since Mr. Huck was leaving.
But that's normal; kids are all like that.
Emotions come quickly and go quickly.
What can she do for her?
Lady Pandora racked her brains and came up with a good idea.
Diagon Alley.
She hadn't taken Luna out for a long time because she was busy making potions.
This is a good opportunity to take Luna out for a walk and change her mood.
Thinking of this, Mrs. Pandora enthusiastically suggested, "Luna, let's go to Diagon Alley together."
"Okay." Luna calmly replied after finishing the remaining black tea on the table.
The bustling crowds moved about in Diagon Alley, and the shop windows, lined with rows of shops, gleamed with the light of various magical goods.
Lady Pandora walked through the crowd, arm in arm with Luna, a rare smile on her face. "Luna, is there anything you need to buy?"
Luna thought for a moment, then shook her head, and then nodded.
This action puzzled Mrs. Pandora.
"Um... I want to buy books," Luna explained softly.
Because she had just remembered what Huck had once told her.
Perhaps reading is a very good choice when you're unhappy.
"Buying books? That's wonderful! I happen to have a few books on potions that I'd like to buy," Lady Pandora said with a smile, clearly pleased with Luna's decision.
Having made their decision, the two headed towards Flourish and Blotts, but they were not the only ones heading to the bookstore.
Upon arrival, the two were surprised to find a large crowd gathered outside the bookstore, all trying to get inside. A prominent banner hung in a window upstairs, reading:
Gilderoy Lockhart's autobiography, "Sailing with Vampires," was signed at a book signing event.
Today from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm
"We can see him with our own eyes!" one of the witches exclaimed excitedly. "I mean, he's published a new book!"
Most of the people in the crowd appeared to be elderly witches.
A weary-looking wizard stood in the doorway, repeatedly calling out, "Ladies, please be quiet and don't crowd—be careful with the books—"
The queue stretched from the entrance all the way to the back of the bookstore, where Gilderoy Lockhart was signing books for customers.
Gradually, they spotted Gilderoy Lockhart. He sat behind a table, surrounded by large photographs of himself, winking at the crowd and flashing dazzling white teeth.
In real life, Lockhart wore a blue robe in the same color as the forget-me-not flowers, which complemented his blue eyes perfectly.
His pointed wizard hat was playfully tilted to one side on his wavy blond hair.
A short, grumpy man with a large black camera was jumping around him taking pictures.
Each time the flash goes off, a puff of purple smoke comes out of the camera.
Pandora ignored these things.
Perhaps it's fair to say that she was never Lockhart's target audience.
Holding Luna's little hand, she bypassed the queue for book signings and went straight into Flourish and Blotts bookstore.
Upon entering Flourish and Blotts, Luna's eyes were immediately drawn to a book placed in the center of the innermost bookshelf.
The Story I Had to Tell About Me and the Werewolf
It was a novel with the same theme as Huck, and it also contained the word "werewolf".
Without any hesitation, Luna ran straight towards the book.
She had just stood on tiptoe and reached out to take the book down when a pair of white, slender arms blocked her way.
Luna looked up and saw a very beautiful yellow-skinned witch.
She was somewhat surprised; she hadn't expected anyone else to notice the book at the same time as her.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't notice you were here," Luna said somewhat awkwardly.
The yellow-skinned witch smiled slightly, her voice soft and melodious: "It's alright, I'm also very interested in this book. I heard it's Mr. Phillips' first published book, so it seems we're kindred spirits."
"Hmm..." Luna nodded, but didn't say anything more.
Clearly, the name Sean Phillips is merely familiar but not well-known.
The yellow-skinned witch noticed her embarrassment and extended her hand to introduce herself, "Hello, my name is Cho Chang, and I'm a freshman who will be starting my first year at Hogwarts this year."
"Hello, my name is Luna Lovegood." Luna also extended her hand.
"Get up! Get up now! Hurry up!" Harry was jolted awake by the voice. His aunt was knocking on his door again.
"Get up!" she screamed.
Harry heard her footsteps toward the kitchen, followed by the sound of a frying pan being placed on the stove.
He turned around, his back to the door, trying to recall the dream he had just had.
It was a beautiful dream, a dream about a motorcycle that could fly.
He found it very interesting, as if he had had the same dream before.
Aunt came to the door again.
"Are you up yet?" she pressed.
"Soon," Harry replied.
"Almost there? Then hurry up. I need you to keep an eye on the smoked pork. If you dare burn it, just try it. I hope everything goes smoothly today."
Harry muttered something.
"What did you say?" Auntie asked sternly again.
"It's nothing, it's nothing—" Harry quickly replied.
Harry slowly got out of bed and started looking for his socks. He found a pair under the bed, grabbed a spider from one of them, and put the sock on.
Harry was used to spiders, as the storage room under the stairs was teeming with them, and he slept there.
He got dressed, walked down the corridor to the kitchen, and began making breakfast.
"Comb your hair! We're going to the zoo later!" Uncle Vernon roared at him.
After breakfast, the Dursleys, along with Harry, boarded the car to the zoo.
Uncle Vernon kept grumbling to Aunt Penny as he drove.
"They're like lunatics, yelling nonstop the whole way, these little devils," he complained as a motorcycle overtook him.
"I dreamt about a motorcycle," Harry suddenly remembered his dream and said, "and it could fly."
Uncle Vernon nearly crashed into the car in front of him after hearing that.
He turned around abruptly, his face bearing the expression of a big-bearded beetroot.
He yelled at Harry, "Motorcycles don't fly!"
Hearing this, Dudley, sitting in the back row, couldn't help but chuckle wryly.
“I know motorcycles don’t fly,” Harry explained. “It was just a dream.”
Soon, the group arrived at the zoo.
