Chapter 248 Luna in Bed

Chapter 248 Luna in Bed

Chapter 248 Luna in Bed

"What are you doing here?" Sean asked in surprise, his voice tinged with confusion and embarrassment.

He never expected Luna to appear in his bedroom at this time, let alone that she would sit by his bed in this manner.

Then, as if remembering something, he lowered his voice and urged, "Hurry back, Luna. If Mr. Lovegood sees you coming here so late, it will cause a misunderstanding."

Luna raised her head, her bright eyes fixed quietly on Sean.

She gently shook her head and didn't say anything.

To be honest, Sean is starting to panic.

The thought that the other person's father was in a room not far from him, and could wake up at any moment because of some slight sound, made Sean's heart race and his palms start to sweat.

He tried to make his tone sound calmer, yet more serious. "Luna, you have to understand, this is really not the right time. We... we can't do this, especially with your father nearby."

Luna remained silent, only gently shaking her head.

Sean was somewhat helpless at the sight.

This is the second time today that he has encountered a situation where communication is impossible.

It seems that communication between people is indeed a very difficult thing.

Especially for witches.

Looking at Luna, who was blinking innocently at him, Sean felt helpless but ultimately chose to compromise.

"Okay... then Zihang suddenly saw clearly, standing in that white light..."

3

Yes, Sean is telling Luna the story of the dragons.

And their conversation only went so far... After that, you have to go back to sleep, understand?

A flicker of excitement flashed in Luna's eyes, and she nodded quickly, her little face beaming with uncontainable joy.

"Alright then, I'll begin..."

As Sean spoke, he took off his coat and went to the bed.

Luna, on the other hand, dutifully burrowed into bed, awaiting the next chapter of the story.

"The Maybach sped off at maximum acceleration, but that's the reality that actually happened."

Just as Sean was getting to the most exciting part of the story, he suddenly heard footsteps outside the door.

The footsteps grew louder as they approached, seemingly heading towards their room. They rushed towards the white light, crashing straight into it.

"The mist was cut open, and Chu was simply telling a story."

Ever since Sean told Luna about Lu Mingfei and Kassel College a few nights ago, she's been pestering him.

Doesn't that sound magical?

Sean's voice slowed involuntarily as he told the story, a hint of doubt and wariness flashing in his eyes.

The footsteps paused at the door, then someone knocked softly.

"Mr. Huck, are you back?"

Oh no, it's Xenophiulos's voice.

Sean glanced at the image of Philius lying there, having discovered that I was with Luna... Sean inwardly groaned, but still politely said, "It's not convenient right now. I just got home and need to unpack. I'll come find you later."

"Alright then, I'll wait for you here," Xenophilius said. "Please call me anytime if you need any help."

As he spoke, it was as if Xenophius had been standing motionless at the door the whole time.

It's over. Luna, still in bed, glanced at the door again, her gaze shifting back and forth between the two.

His heart leaped into his throat.

Damn it... now is not the time to explain, I have to deal with this first!

"Um... I just got back and was about to change," Sean replied in a low voice. "What's up?"

2

"It's nothing serious, I just wanted to make sure you were back. I have something I'd like to discuss with you," Xenophilius said. "May I come in and see you now, if it's convenient for you?"

That won't do... It sent a chill down Xenius's spine. He glanced at Luna, who was looking at him with her bright, watery eyes. "How about... I hide in the closet?" Luna tentatively suggested.

Sean then realized that it was Valentine's Day three years later.

No wonder she ran into the closet without saying a word; the seeds of the whole thing were sown there.

But... if he remembered correctly, the closet seemed to be crammed full of miscellaneous items, making it impossible to squeeze a person in at a short time.

So Sean shook his head.

His eyes scanned the room, searching for a possible way out or hiding place.

Finally, he fixed his gaze on the blanket.

Just then, Xenophilius, standing outside the door, urged again, "Mr. Harker, is it ready?"

After not receiving a reply for a long time, he began to doubt whether Mr. Huck was actually in the room, so he turned the doorknob.

As the doorknob was slowly turned, a panicked Sean suddenly noticed that the outline under the blanket seemed a little strange. He quickly wrapped the entire blanket around Luna's body, making sure that no part of her was exposed.

"Come in," Sean said to Xenophilius, trying to sound calm, as he buried Luna's head in the blankets as well.

With a creaking sound from the hinges of the door, Xenophirus entered the room.

Sean sat half-upright, pretending to be relaxed, facing Xenophilius.

"Why are you so late today?" Xenophilius asked, his gaze falling on Sean, seemingly very puzzled by his condition.

"My body has undergone some new changes, so the doctor kept me behind for some tests." Sean touched his hair and smiled awkwardly.

"Oh, really? How were the test results? Is everything alright?" Xenophilius's voice carried a hint of worry as he leaned forward, clearly concerned about Sean's health.

If he knew that his precious daughter was right now...:

I wonder what he'll think.

"Well, the doctor said there's nothing seriously wrong, just that the treatment plan needs to be adjusted to accommodate the new changes in my body." Sean tried to make his tone sound relaxed, not wanting Xenophilius to notice anything unusual about him.

He took a deep breath, trying to ease the barely perceptible tension in the air.

"That's good. You really should get more rest," Xenophilius said, walking to the window and gently pulling back the half-drawn curtains, letting the moonlight flood the entire room.

At that moment, Luna's little head was burning hot under the covers.

But she dared not move at all, for fear of making any noise that would arouse her father's suspicion.

This distracted Sean for a moment, but he quickly regained his composure and focused on what Xenophilius was saying.

"Mr. Harker, your story 'The Witch Who Didn't Know She Was a Werewolf' has received an excellent response in The Quibbler. Many of our regular subscribers have sent me letters praising your story."

As Xenophius finished speaking, a satisfied and proud smile spread across his face, as if he had written the story himself.

In fact, as the founder and editor-in-chief of "Singing the Divergence," this is indeed a very gratifying thing.

"Some readers wrote in saying that your novel...::"

As Xenophilius spoke, his beloved daughter Luna struggled to control her breathing.

Her breathing became more and more rapid and hot, and her warm, moist breath sprayed onto Sean's thighs.

Sean even sensed that Luna's mouth seemed to have touched something she shouldn't have.

"Well... Mr. Lovegood, I am truly grateful to you and The Quibbler for the opportunity you gave me. Without your support and trust, my story could not have touched the hearts of so many readers."

The success of this story is the result of our joint efforts.

Sean was still using his remaining rationality to restrain himself, allowing himself to exchange some polite words with Xenophilius.

As time went on, the ambiguous atmosphere between the two became increasingly intense.

Luna felt her body temperature rising and her heart beating faster and faster, as if it were about to jump out of her throat.

She could clearly feel Sean's body temperature and pulse, which made her feel weak and powerless all over.

Sean felt the same way; he could feel Luna's hot breath and rapid breathing right next to his ear, a deadly temptation.

He couldn't resist placing his hand on Luna's wrist, his fingers tracing the smoothness of her arm.

"Mr. Hack?" Xenophilius looked at Sean suspiciously, and Sean quickly withdrew his hand.

"I mean, Mr. Lovegood, our collaboration has truly been unparalleled, and I am deeply honored to be a part of Quibbles. I may have been a little out of line just now, I'm so sorry." Sean tried his best to make his voice sound normal, although the turmoil inside him was hard to calm.

Luna nestled beneath Sean, her face flushed crimson.

If my father found out that I had actually…

Xenophilius was somewhat puzzled by Sean's reaction, but didn't delve into it. He simply smiled and said, "Mr. Harker, I understand your passion for creation; sometimes emotions are indeed hard to control. However, let's get back to business. What are your thoughts on your upcoming work?"

Sean took a deep breath and tried to refocus his attention on his conversation with Xenophilius.

"Actually, I already have a new story idea, about a young wizard's adventure in search of lost magic. I think this story would be very suitable for readers of The Quibbler." Sean tried his best to make his voice sound steady and professional.

Then he changed the subject.

"But after I finish this story, I might leave."

"Leave?" Xenophilius asked in surprise, his brow furrowing slightly, clearly taken aback by Sean's sudden announcement. "You mean leave here? Why?"

When Sean said he was about to leave, Xenophilius noticed that Sean's leg seemed to move slightly under the covers.

Sean only sensed that Luna wanted to open her mouth and scream, but it seemed as if something was blocking her mouth with the fabric.

He was silent for a moment, seemingly searching for the right words to express his feelings.

This was a decision he made on short notice after talking with Lily this afternoon.

That's life; it's full of randomness.

Sometimes, the turning point of fate is hidden in those unexpected moments. A decision or an encounter can change all previous plans.

He can't possibly get everything he wants.

This is an unrealistic thing.

You always have to learn to make choices.

Finally, Sean said slowly, "Yes, Mr. Lovegood. I am very grateful to you and The Quibbler for everything you have given me during this time. However, I feel that I need to explore wider horizons, try some new writing styles, and perhaps even venture into other creative fields."

"I understand your decision, Mr. Harker," Xenophilius said after a moment's thought. "Every writer needs to constantly challenge themselves, seeking new inspiration and creative directions. I'm happy for you and wish you all the best on your new journey."

Xenophilius emphasized, emphasizing each word, "But please remember, wherever you go, this will always be your home, and our doors will always be open for you."

To be honest, I've had a very pleasant time with Sean these past few days.

Although he had known for a long time that this day of parting would come, when the time came to say goodbye, an indescribable sadness welled up in his heart.

"Thank you, Mr. Lovegood. Your understanding and support mean a lot to me. I know that wherever I go, this experience on Quibbles will be a precious memory for me," Sean said sincerely.

"Mr. Harker, please be sure to come see me tomorrow morning. I will pay you your royalties for this period of time," Xenophilius instructed before leaving.

"Okay, I understand. I'll come see you again tomorrow morning." Sean quickly got up to see him out.

The moment the door opened, a gust of cold wind rushed in, and Sean felt as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over his back, making him much more awake.

However, when he turned to look at Luna, he saw that Luna's face was flushed and she looked bewildered.

Sean couldn't help but laugh and reached out to ruffle Luna's hair.

"Luna, thank you for your hard work," Sean said affectionately, helping Luna to sit up.

Luna then realized how embarrassing she had just been, and her face turned even redder.

"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to..." Luna stammered, "It's just... it was so weird... we were so close."

"It's alright, it was my oversight," Sean said, patting Luna's shoulder reassuringly. "Now that Xenophilius is gone..."

You can come out now.

Luna nodded and slowly crawled out of bed.

But as soon as Luna crawled out of bed, Sean was stunned by the sight before him.

Luna's golden hair cascaded down her back, highlighting her rosy cheeks, making her incredibly beautiful.

What made Sean even more unable to look away was that Luna's top had a wide neckline, revealing a patch of snow-white skin.

Luna quickly noticed the indecent scene, exclaimed in surprise, and shrank back under the covers.

"Sorry... I forgot to button my shirt..." Luna's voice came through the blanket, full of shyness and embarrassment. (186 words deleted)
