Chapter 125 - 161- Adriannel’s Recklessness
Chapter 125 - 161- Adriannel’s Recklessness
"You have to die for now Gleinder"
Hearing Alexios’s words, Gleinder’s eyes widened, but before he could say something, his eyes started to get blurry, and he fell to the floor.
"What’s with that dialogue?" Adriannel looked at the caramel-haired boy, slowly pulling Gleinder’s body to the center.
"I was just informing him of the truth, though," Alexios, aware of the ritual, stated the obvious.
Looking blankly at Alexios for some time, Adriannel snapped his fingers.
SWISH
"Was it teleportation?" Alexios, suddenly teleported away from the circle’s center, felt genuinely interested.
Ignoring him, Adriannel kept working.
SWOOSH
The moment Adriannel’s mana got absorbed in the magic circle, it started to shine brightly.
Slowly lifting into the air, the circle pulled an ethereal body out of Gleinder, who lay unconscious on the floor.
Alexios’ emerald eyes reflected a soul levitating in mid-air. Adriannel’s hand lifted, and his foot moved towards the circle...
WHOOSH
An energy surged out of the soul’s body, trying to push Adriannel away. But on contact with his body, the energy started to dissipate as he continued to move forward.
"Ugh. I never expected it to be this dangerous, Professor!" Alexios suddenly felt corrosion inside his soul, causing him to transform into his demonic form to protect his soul from destruction.
The energy emanating from the soul’s body acted violently, attempting to prevent Adriannel from coming near. However, amidst the barrage of bright light, he reached the center and placed his hand on the soul.
SWISH
Suddenly, Adriannel’s eyes turned hollow, while his body remained motionless. Alexios shifted his gaze to the soul form, understanding what was happening.
Upon entering the office, he identified the magic circle from the references in the ancient books of demon rum.
The circle was used by demon sorcerers to enter the spiritual world, where a spirit of oneself resided.
Though it seemed easy to cast the spell by drawing a circle, he himself had attempted this method several times but always failed.
The complex structure, precision, and accuracy of mana needed to achieve results were very challenging for him.
However, today, witnessing how Adriannel successfully created and prepared the entire thing, Alexios became interested in observing the entire process, leading him to beat Gleinder to a pulp in excitement.
But now, after seeing the soul emerge from Gleinder’s body and feeling the repulsive energy corroding his own soul, he realized that if not for the demonic energy within him, the corrosion would have destroyed his soul.
But, the question remained, what could be the energy that can corrode one’s soul.
.....
Adriannel’s eyes opened inside Gleinder’s spiritual body.
Upon learning about future events that could significantly impact major plots or relate to his friend’s children, he resolved to resolve them.
Within this space, he observed a vast horizon but found no one present except for a breathtaking scenery and a crystal-clear pond.
He moved towards the pond and uttered, "I know you’re inside. Don’t hide; peacefully leave him."
"....."
Receiving no response, Adriannel extended his hand, causing a small tornado to form within the water.
CRUMBLE
As the tornado reached its peak speed, the world started trembling. The white glow shattered like a mirror, breaking into pieces.
"Grrrrrrrr"
A sound echoed, prompting Adriannel to turn towards the sky, where he saw thousands of eyes gazing at him.
"Khuukk"
Another sound emerged from a different direction, drawing his attention.
Adriannel’s crimson eyes reflected the figure of a human-like body similar to Gleinder’s, but instead of his face, numerous black, dark vines emanated from his body, slowly advancing towards him.
"Leee...tth.....Plaacc," the entire spiritual world resonated with a sound urging Adriannel to leave, though he paid no heed.
"I see. So it was you," Adriannel recognized the dark creature taking form inside Gleinder’s spirit, having devoured half of it.
BOOM
Suddenly, a black vine hurtled toward Adriannel at a swift velocity, its sharp edge aimed to pierce his chest.
BANG!
The tentacle collided with Adriannel’s body, but instead of piercing his skin, it bent the moment it neared a centimeter from his skin.
"Khhhekekkk," the creature screamed, feeling the sudden pain of an unknown energy penetrating its defenses and attacking it.
"Let’s see how long you will hold," Adriannel said as he gripped the black vein with his clutches, slowly sending a unique kind of energy only he possessed, causing the elevated body of Gleinder to slowly land on the floor.
SCHLKT!
But the moment it did, a vein pierced Adriannel’s chest from behind.
"Khukhukhu," a creepy laugh sounded from the creature’s body as it observed Adriannel’s spatial projection form, which was nothing but his soul, starting to turn black and corrode at a rapid rate.
"It was a mistake to show mercy to a parasite like you," Adriannel spoke, while his first thought was to experiment with this creature by dissecting it to see how it could corrode someone’s very soul.
Though demonic energy possessed similar properties, it didn’t corrode someone’s soul but corrupted it, which was completely different in the case of the black energy coming from this creature, who seemed to possess such dangerous energy.
WHOOSH!
In a mere blink, thousands of magic circles formed in the space while the wound on Adriannel’s chest started to heal, with the tentacle piercing his chest starting to shiver.
BANG
The tentacle shattered the moment Adriannel’s chest fully healed, and the black color of his soul started to disappear, causing his original white glowing body to become visible.
"Now sleep eternally," Adriannel’s eyes turned towards the humanoid figure before a barrage of sounds enveloped the whole area.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
"Khhukkk" "Kheeekk"
The barrage of rays started to hit the creature’s body randomly in all directions, causing a series of screams and cries to reverberate throughout the place accompanied by the beams.
"Ssstttt....." The cries of the creature to stop resounded, but Adriannel paid no heed to this, continuing to attack and keep it busy.
SWISH
Slowly, Adriannel levitated into the air, lifting his hand forward as energy flowed through it to form a huge, enormous magic circle.
CRACKLE
The circle started to rotate at a rapid rate, causing the surrounding world’s dark fog to fade at its touch.
BOOOOOOOMM!
With a loud sound, everything ended with a huge burst of energy forward, destroying the creature’s host body.
...
’I knew it!’ Alexios kept looking at the magic circle, trying to learn from it. Slowly, his face brightened due to realizing the gaps in his knowledge of this circle.
There were several missing pages inside the ritual’s method, and those gaps were now starting to get filled by seeing the thing in real life, made by an expert.
SWISH
Thud
Suddenly, the magic circle disappeared, and Gleinder’s body fell on the floor, making Alexios turn towards Adriannel, who was looking at his hand.
"Grrrrr...kkkrr"
Suddenly, a sound made Alexios turn towards it, only to see a small black parasite trembling at a rapid rate, trying to break free from Adriannel’s clutches. The dark smoke surrounding it felt ominous.
"You know, Alexios, what this thing is," Adriannel turned towards Alexios to inquire about the thing, knowing well about his interest in learning.
"N-No, it can’t be!" Alexios’s eyes widened, seeing the very creature referred to as the ancient being causing the destruction of Gids—The God Killer.
"It’s Xubrius, the creature that destroys the soul. The more souls it kills, the more its energy increases. But what is this thing doing here?" Alexios swiftly turned towards Adriannel for an explanation, not understanding the reason for a creature from the Abyss to be present in this world.
"This thing was brought by someone, and you know the reason why I am telling this to you," Adriannel’s eyes fixed on the creature, which kept trying to protest and free itself from his clutches by trying to pierce its sharp tentacles inside Adriannel’s wrist, but it broke every time it did so.
"T-to investigate the person who brought this thing," Alexios felt that only reason for Adriannel to show him everything was him hoping for him to investigate the whole thing not wanting himself to get involved in this matter.
"Y-Yes, I want you to do that," Adriannel nodded as his crimson eyes slowly began to shine, and a crimson mana started to emanate from his hands, slowly enveloping the creature.
"Khhhhuuuuuwwwekkkkk!!!"
The creature screamed in unbearable pain, the searing intensity dissipating the dark mana around it.
The energy Adriannel used was the same he had applied to Banzihum’s body to extract information, and now he was doing the same with this entity.
His intention was to unravel the mystery hidden within the place from where this creature was born.
It was a universal truth that a being of this caliber would have lived for millennia, perhaps having encountered the very beings referred to as gods.
Adriannel’s thirst for knowledge drove him to this point, to the extent that he didn’t even heed Alexios’s cries.
"Professor, stop it! You will die at this rate!"
