Chapter 117 - 153- Some hidden truth
"Is it done?" Zeph’s eyes turned between the drawing on his hand and the girl who was making it, looking at her while supporting his chin using another hand placed on the bench.
"Yes, it’s done," retreating back, Thalia’s face formed a smile as she turned towards his golden pupils, which were looking at her teasingly.
"What?" Seeing his gaze, she felt confused and inquired, making him point his eyes towards the drawing before saying, "So, what is the meaning of this devastation?"
Having already heard these words several times, she turned her gaze away without protesting, making Zeph feel bewildered due to her acting like that.
"Hey, Thal—" Before Zeph could say something, a voice interrupted him in the middle.
"Everyone, listen to me," Adriannel entered the classroom directly, addressing all the students to inform them about the upcoming test, making Zeph turn towards him.
’What’s with him?’ He felt confused, seeing Adriannel stealing glances at him, causing his intuition to ring about an upcoming future that wouldn’t be in his favor.
"Students, there will be practical tests in five days. Prepare yourselves; details will be collected from Professor Liamian."
’!?’
Hearing this information, Zeph’s eyes widened.
Although this task would have been assigned to Professor Banzihum, due to his permanent busyness, it was given to someone whom zeph least expected to be the guide in that dangerous place.
’Why that limousine?’ Feeling frustrated that his luck was again playing pranks on him, the one whom he got as a professor was none other than the leader representing the Valley in the Academy.
Meaning every professor on the Valley’s side listened to the orders of Liamian.
As the leader, sometimes it was mentioned in the novel that he was stronger than Deventhia, but whether it was true or not was never known since...
Zeph turned towards the girl sitting in the front row of the next column beside him, Estelle Collins, whose grandfather had killed Liamian after just one month of the test incident.
Though the reason was different according to the novel, Zeph knew it was due to his granddaughter feeling sad after that test, playing a major role in his anger.
It was far more of a reason to understand how much of a psycho her grandfather was to even kill someone from the Valley just to lighten her granddaughter’s mood.
And with that, he came on the hit list of the Obsidian Order, who found a weakness in one of the world’s strongest.
They orchestrated the plan to kill an Aqua lord by kidnapping his granddaughter and ganging up for the killing.
Sticking to their coward personality, they even tried to kill Estelle, but she was saved due to arrival of an Archmage on time.
Though it was not exactly on time since Zerkiel had already exhausted his single bit of life force.
’What’s with that bastard?’ Estelle, seeing Zeph’s gaze as if he was looking at some pitiful dog, wanted nothing more than to break his bones.
"And you, I appoint you as in-charge of students," a sound caused everyone to look at Zeph, who turned towards Adriannel While he was looking at him with a smile.
’Is he for real?’ Zeph, seeing the same smirk from the day he fought with Adriannel, felt his mouth twitching, but controlled it feeling everyone’s gaze, including Valeriana, who was just as shocked as him.
’Why him?’ She should be the one placed as in-charge based on information she got from her aunt.
Unaware that the Director of this Academy was the father of the young man beside her, though of course, zeph definitely did not use connections to get that position.
"I-I want to reje—" Zeph, already habitual of dealing with professors, tried to reject but got interrupted in the middle.
"I am happy that you will be in charge, Zeph," hearing that familiar voice, he turned towards Thalia, who genuinely seemed happy.
His brain, which was about to reject due to finding everything bothersome, stopped in the middle.
"I accept." He was in the middle of standing but changed his mind and sat back, causing a twitch to form on Adriannel’s face upon seeing him being subdued by a woman.
"With this, Everything should be clear" Adriannel said before leaving the classroom, walking through the hallway, already contemplating ways to deal with the upcoming future.
After glimpsing the future through Chrono’s mind, he was prepared to face the things that would occur, and first, he planned to confront Liamian on the test grounds.
According to Chrono’s memories, which were far into the future from this time, Liamian was the gatekeeper of the Valley making him more like a general who led the Elves in the Vendal Kingdom.
Adriannel had decided to confront and eliminate him on the test grounds instead of within the academy, to prevent other elves from becoming aware of his retaliation.
Although that mattered the least to him, he was concerned that if the flames of the academy spread, it might affect the entire Vendal Kingdom.
While moving, he contemplated another reason to not act recklessly.
’I have to train him well.’ Adriannel had decided to toughen Zeph in the upcoming training, observing how Zeph’s actions changed in an instant due to a woman’s smile.
’"Aren’t you the same husband?"’ Suddenly, a voice interrupted him, causing him to turn towards a woman with white hair and amethyst eyes flying beside him, the aura surrounding her making the air fall into a haze, yet remaining tranquil.
’What are you doing here?’ Seeing the phantom of his wife, Adriannel felt confused.
He knew that after he went to deal with the Obsidian Knight, the energy fluctuations from a distant place revealed her battle with seven beings.
Seeing her here only pointed towards one thing. ’Can’t she have some patience?’
"’You can’t understand a mother’s heart, husband,"’ she said, already aware of what Adriannel was talking about.
She formed a smile, her eyes reflecting a figure who was her world but as distant as a sky.
Adriannel ignored her and moved towards his office, already aware that Evangeline, feeling impatient, had sent her phantom to keep an eye on Zeph and also make him understand how her imprint came onto Zeph’s body.
It was clear that Evangeline had sent her Phantom since the day she first realized the existence of Zeph.
It also seemed true since he survived in the dragon’s mouth like that.
It would have been impossible for someone to survive in something that incinerates everything; even the strongest mages can’t survive in dragon’s mouth.
Only Adriannel knew how Zeph was alive that day.
Being unaware of everything, Zeph believed the reason for his survival was Zendal and Luinera, forgetting the point that he was inside a dragon’s mouth.
Dragons have mana Repeling abilities evident from the fact that Zeph’s wounds took so much time to heal.
But he survived inside its mouth using mana to cover his body—an utterly foolish assumption.
A smile formed on Adriannel’s face, knowing how far his wife was willing to go to protect their son.
As a father, he was determined to go to far greater lengths than her.

Thalia’s POV
’It should be good, right?’ After finishing the drawing on Zeph’s hands, I confirmed if it was correct.
[Yes, Master. It will link me to him]
I heard the reply from my Artifact, which I got from Banzihum.
Though I wanted to tell Zeph about this Artifact, it seemed to fear him for some reason.
Still, I would have told him if not for the ability of this Artifact that solved my problem, making me think twice before informing Zeph.
’So, it will act as a marking point, right?’ I confirmed the reason for making that drawing on his hand.
[Yes, Master. With that, you will get teleported directly near him]
Hearing that, I would no longer fear being away from him. It felt relieving.
’But what if this pen’s drawing is erased?’ A doubt came to my mind, prompting me to inquire.
[No, Master. You just have to mark it one time, and I will link with his soul.]
’Wow, aren’t you super strong?’ Though Professor Deventhia had assured about this Artifact’s loyalty, I needed to tame it too.
[Hehe, Thank you, Master. I am from the Third Floor of Sanctum and I am just the lowest in rank there, but of course, the only kind one; others are rude.]
Seeing him open up, I felt satisfied, already aware of him from the third floor of some Sanctum place.
Hearing him even reveal the weakness of being looked down felt satisfying.
After all, there is a difference between being kind-hearted and stupid, who opens up their heart to others so openly, making others look down upon them.
Though I don’t think this way, it just shows how much trust that individual holds in you to even show their weakness, which made me satisfied.
’Could Zeph detect you?’ Feeling perplexed about his stealthiness, I inquired.
[No, Master’s husband doesn’t have any high-tier Artifact to detect me.]
’Very good.’ Seeing him referring to Zeph as my husband, I felt satisfied that my training was going very well.
"And you, I appoint you as in-charge of students."
Suddenly hearing Professor Adriannel’s voice, my focus turned toward another fear of mine.
Somehow, I was not feeling well about the upcoming test, maybe stemming from the previous one where Zeph got attacked by a dragon, and I could only helplessly look at him.
’I hate it,’ I clenched my dress, not wanting to become any burden for him, but walk hand-in-hand and stand beside him every time.
But now, hearing that he would become in-charge, I was at least relieved that he would not be able to leave the group in the middle like that time.
Suddenly seeing him standing like that, my intuition told me to stop him.
"I want Reje—"
Before he could reject, I intervened, "I am happy that you will be in charge, Zeph,"
’Look Genuine, Thalia,’ I forced the most innocent smile I could muster and tried to appear as genuine as I could.
Seeing him accept his role, I finally felt relieved.
’Sorry, Zeph. But it’s for your well-being.’ Turning towards Zeph, I felt guilty for lying to him but decided to apologize later.
"By the way, Thalia," Zeph’s voice drew my attention towards him, his golden pupils fixed on me.
"Y-yes," Seeing his gaze, my heart raced.
Did I get caught?
’Yeah, I did.’ Seeing his teasing smile, I understood that I had messed up which became even more certain after hearing his words.
"You see Thalia, for acting in front of me like that, you’ve won yourself another heart-to-heart session soon."
’Is it a punishment?’
