Chapter 200 - 200
Chapter 200 - 200
"Alright everyone, enough chitchat." Nagato cut in, ending the topic before these idiots talked until dawn. He looked at Naruto, a hint of fondness in his gaze. "Tell us why you called us here."
The establishment of the Land of Whirlpools wasn't just the creation of a nation. It represented the complete rise of the ninja profession, or more precisely, it opened the door to a new world for all shinobi.
Ninjutsu didn't have to be destructive. Used for creation, it could be far more powerful. Wind Release could harvest crops, Earth Release could build structures, and Water Release could irrigate fields. Even Fire Release and Lightning Release, the most destructive of the five elemental natures, had unique applications. The explosive energy they provided far exceeded the other three.
As for Kekkei Genkai, the possibilities went without saying. The Byakugan, in particular, was perfect for surgery, those who possessed it were natural-born surgeons.
As a result, in less than a year since the Land of Whirlpools was founded, it had developed vast technological marvels: electric lamps, steamships, and electric cars. Technology was erupting like a geyser.
Add to that the overwhelming suppression of Akatsuki, an organization capable of enforcing global nuclear deterrence. In a sense, this world had already achieved basic peace.
How strong was Nagato after obtaining Isshiki's power? His strength had already surpassed the limits of ordinary imagination. Even without the Tailed Beasts, Nagato alone was enough to subdue the entire Shinobi World.
Even if all the Tailed Beasts (excluding Super Buff Kurama) stood against him, he could single-handedly flatten the world. It was even more stronger than Hashirama in his prime.
Moreover, Nagato was not Hashirama, he wouldn't bow to the other Kage to beg for peace. No village dared to provoke war in his presence. If they did, Nagato would teach them the true meaning of pain.
A world peace more real than the Infinite Tsukuyomi.
"Do you know about parallel worlds? Do you believe other worlds exist?"
For the former members of Akatsuki, joining the organization had partly been to escape the pursuit of their villages and seek a moment of peace, but mostly to find something exciting to do.
Think about what Akatsuki had planned before: gathering the Tailed Beasts, forging Tailed Beast Weapons, conquering the world. Madness. Fun. But with world peace, all that was gone.
After the battle with Isshiki, Akatsuki had suddenly become invincible. While it was true that no one dared to provoke them anymore, the passion had vanished.
Guys like Deidara and Hidan, who couldn't stand boredom, had been restless for a long time.
World peace? You can shout a few slogans, sure. But did anyone really expect the others aside from Nagato and Konan to treat it as a creed?
The members of Akatsuki exchanged glances. Some looked solemn, genuinely pondering Naruto's question. Others were indifferent, whether parallel worlds existed or not didn't concern them. Some looked completely baffled, simply because they didn't understand what a parallel world was.
Naruto turned to the baffled Deidara first. "It's a version of you from another world. He looks exactly the same, but his habits are completely opposite. For example, if you like Kanto-style Oden, he might like mixed rice."
Deidara grimaced at the mention of mixed rice. Hidan snickered. Naruto turned to him. "For example, you have slicked-back hair. But your counterpart might be a girl with blonde twintails, or maybe a bald monk."
This time, Deidara pointed at Hidan and burst out laughing. Two rascals.
"You've said quite a lot," Sasori spoke slowly, seemingly guessing what Naruto was getting at. "Naruto, you've found a way to travel to other worlds, haven't you?"
By sorting through the data left behind in the base built by Isshiki, Sasori had gained some understanding of parallel dimensions. Naruto nodded at the puppeteer, then addressed the rest of Akatsuki. "So, everyone, do you want to go play in other worlds?"
He really found a way to other worlds.
Sasori had guessed it, but hearing Naruto actually confirm it still surprised him. 'Other worlds? Another version of myself?'
Kisame grinned, revealing a mouth full of sharp teeth. He looked at Naruto with keen interest. "I certainly am-"
"Count me in!" Before Kisame could finish, Deidara cut in impatiently. "Other worlds and another version of myself? That sounds like a blast."
"I can't wait to show my other self the true power of my art."
"Hurry up! Hurry up!"
Naruto glanced at the excited Deidara, then turned to the rest. "What about you?"
"If it's a parallel world, then Akatsuki will exist there too, right?" Nagato asked.
"Of course." Naruto nodded. "But the timeline might be different from ours, past, present, or future. Everything you know will be there, but not quite as we understand it." Like the timeline they'd reached earlier through the Ryumyaku, where Rin had died.
"Is that so?" Nagato murmured, nodding slowly. "Then there should be a world where Yahiko is still alive."
"Nagato!" Konan tugged at his sleeve, shaking her head. "The Yahiko we knew is dead."
"The Yahiko of another world isn't the one we knew, even if he looks the same and has the same memories."
"I..." The word had barely left his lips when the rest caught in his throat. After a long while, he continued, "I just wanted Yahiko to see the world he spoke of realized with his own eyes."
There were many ways to make Yahiko witness this world: Edo Tensei, Rinne Rebirth, or even Edo Tensei combined with Living Corpse Reincarnation. But in their hearts, Yahiko was already dead. They were the inheritors of his will.
Konan gazed at Nagato with tender eyes, then turned to the Deva Path. "Yahiko has already seen it."
"Father... Mother," Sasori whispered, words meant only for himself.
Father and mother, the pain Sasori still couldn't let go of. Even though he had remade his body, even though he believed he had erased all emotions, the truth was different. Beneath his cold, ruthless exterior, Sasori craved affection the most. He cared deeply about familial love and friendship.
"The village... Money." Even Kakuzu, who valued wealth above all else, fell silent. If not for Takigakure's betrayal, he would never have stolen the Earth Grudge Fear. Perhaps he would have had a different ending. But one thing was certain, he wouldn't have lived this long.
Thinking this, Kakuzu pulled a bankbook from his pocket. Looking at the long string of numbers inside, a satisfied smile crossed his face. And he wouldn't have this much money.
Another version of myself? Kisame recalled a girl who hadn't feared his appearance. 'A person only recognizes their true self at the moment of death.' Another figure came to mind. 'I really want to show you the current Shinobi World too.' It's a scene that could only appear in a novel.
'Father... I have grown into an excellent Hyuga ninja.' Neji's thoughts were clear.
Among everyone present, only Sasuke's frowned slightly.
'Another Naruto...? Golden Twintails? Why would I suddenly think of that?!'
"I'll ask everyone one more time."
Naruto waited as the crowd indulged in nostalgia, then continued, "Does anyone want to go on an adventure to other worlds with me?"
"It might be a parallel world we know, a completely different world, or perhaps a much more colorful world." Like Dragon Ball.
The group, having already made up their minds, answered in unison. "Let us experience something so interesting."
"This is really exciting. I thought things would be boring after world peace."
Deidara draped his right arm casually over Naruto's shoulder. "Sure enough, with you here, Naruto, it's never boring."
"So, how do we get there?"
"It's simple," Naruto said flatly, slapping his palm against the ground. "Summoning Technique!"
"Box of Ultimate Bliss: Anywhere Door Form."
After devouring the Ryumyaku, the Box of Ultimate Bliss had gained the power to travel through other dimensions. However, it required Naruto's assistance to do so, the Box alone couldn't traverse worlds.
Looking at the ordinary gate, the group couldn't help but feel a trace of doubt. 'Could such a door really travel to other worlds?'
"Of course not. Traveling through worlds requires immense energy," Naruto explained, sensing their thoughts.
"So."
"Summoning Technique!"
Isshiki's Ten-Tails appeared beneath Naruto's feet.
"What an ugly thing."
Hidan looked up at the Ten-Tails, who stood over a hundred meters tall, like a small mountain that stretched on forever. "Naruto, where did you get such a big guy?"
As he spoke, he curiously patted the beast's massive body, only to get a handful of snot-like slime. Realizing how sticky the creature was, he immediately looked disgusted.
"From that Otsutsuki a year ago."
"Oh that? I was bedridden for a month."
The members of Akatsuki suddenly realized. Nagato looked at the slug-like Ten-Tails and frowned. 'Although he looks completely different, why do I get a feeling similar to the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path?'
"Box of Ultimate Bliss!"
Naruto walked up to the Box and patted its surface. Pointing at the Ten-Tails, who looked like a curious infant, he ordered, "Swallow him."
Even a juvenile Ten-Tails was still a Ten-Tails. Absorbing such a huge mass would take a long time. Otherwise, why would Naruto have kept this Ten-Tails? He couldn't even beat the Nine-Tails, he didn't even qualify to be a pet.
