Chapter 76 Unpleasant Food

Chapter 76 Unpleasant Food

"Today is your end," Sean said coldly, pointing his wand at Voldemort.

Voldemort, who had already taken over Quirrell's body, gleamed coldly in his eyes, and laughed angrily: "Sean Phillips, who do you think you are, daring to speak to me like that?"

Sean prolonged the conversation as much as possible, because he wanted to give Voldemort ample time to prepare for his escape.

"Who am I?" Sean chuckled at the question. If he were to introduce himself, he could fill an entire class: "I'm the bestselling author in the wizarding world for the last five years, an honorary member of the Defense Against the Dark Arts League, a three-time winner of Wizarding Weekly's Most Charming Smile Award, and the youngest Defense Against the Dark Arts professor in Hogwarts history..."

Upon hearing Sean's last title, Voldemort's lips twitched slightly.

But that's not all.

"After defeating you, I can also receive the Order of Merlin. In fact, last year, my publisher, Obscurial Books, submitted a written application to the Ministry of Magic on my behalf. If I defeat you here today, the entire application process may be shortened indefinitely." Sean said this long sentence in one breath, feeling a little thirsty.

He's feeling a bit craving a hot cup of honey lemon black tea.

But the performance wasn't over yet, and he couldn't act like a diva and yell "cut" in the middle, so he continued.

"But standing here today, I am just an ordinary wizard. I have the courage and determination to fight you, Voldemort." Sean's eyes were firm, and he gripped his wand tightly, showing no sign of backing down.

However, behind his displayed firmness lay a hint of anxiety and unease within him.

Damn it, what is Voldemort dawdling about?

Run!

Sean couldn't understand why.

Voldemort's voice, standing opposite him, was full of sarcasm: "You think that little stick you're holding can fight me?"

Although Sean was very anxious, he suppressed his emotions, took a deep breath, and slowly said, "No, I don't rely solely on my wand. I rely on my conviction, my courage, and my duty as a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor."

Sean emphasized the last few words, "Professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts".

Since Voldemort has caused him trouble, he will definitely not let Voldemort feel good.

Voldemort sneered, "Those are useless before absolute power."

"Strength isn't everything," Sean said calmly. "Sometimes, it's courage and determination that determine victory or defeat, not just strength."

"You used to use your magic to instill fear in people, but now it's time for you to taste fear yourself."

Voldemort narrowed his eyes. The other person's sanctimonious appearance reminded him of someone... He was somewhat displeased, and even nauseous.

He waved his wand, and a beam of black light shot towards Sean. Sean reacted quickly, waving his wand to create a defensive spell that successfully blocked Voldemort's attack.

"Looks like you've got some skills." Voldemort's tone held a hint of surprise, but only for a moment before his expression turned utterly ferocious. "Then I'll show you what true dark magic really is!"

"Smoke billowing everywhere!"

Voldemort shouted, and a black mist burst forth from the tip of his wand, quickly spreading throughout the entire space. The black mist was like a living thing, churning and surging, completely obscuring the surrounding scenery, leaving only pitch-black darkness.

"Iron Armor!" Sean instinctively cast another Iron Armor spell, enveloping himself and the two little ones behind him.

In the thick darkness, Sean stood still like a statue, his mind highly focused, capturing the subtle magical fluctuations in his surroundings.

These fluctuations acted like invisible clues, guiding his senses in the pitch-black space.

He knew that any carelessness would be fatal when facing someone like Voldemort, so he dared not slack off in the slightest and his nerves were on edge.

Strangely, however, after Voldemort cast the "Smoke of Despair" spell, a deathly silence fell over the surroundings, with only the breathing and heartbeats of Sean, Hermione, and Harry echoing around them.

Time seemed to stand still, and every second felt incredibly long.

Finally, just as Sean was about to lose his patience, the surrounding smoke began to slowly dissipate, and in front of him, there was only a cold corpse—Quirok.

Sure enough, Voldemort took advantage of the opportunity to escape.

Sean breathed a long sigh of relief.

everything is over.

After that, Professor McGonagall and Professor Dumbledore arrived late, side by side.

"What's going on?" As usual, it was Professor McGonagall's questioning voice.

Sean was not in the mood to answer her questions for free at that moment.

He waved his hand, and then, under everyone's gaze, left only a desolate figure behind.

Hermione and Harry, standing behind her, were telling Professor McGonagall what had just happened.

"Quirk wants to steal the Philosopher's Stone!"

"Voldemort has appeared!"

"Professor Sean scared Voldemort away!"

"..."

......

Having accomplished his task, Sean returned to his office, keeping his achievements hidden.

He was quite tired after working overtime all night.

Although his double eyelids were already fighting each other, he still forced himself to stay alert because he had something more important to do at that moment.

"Wake up." Sean crawled into his briefcase and brought Bella out.

"Do you remember why we came here?" Sean said quietly.

"The Philosopher's Stone?" Bella's answer was rhetorical, but it was affirmative.

How could she possibly forget?

She was thinking about one name the whole time.

Voldemort.

She believes that everything she does today is for the sake of reaping greater success in the future.

That's why she went to such lengths to please Sean.

He survived so many years in Azkaban, only paying a physical price. What's that?

not to mention...
