He made me—
Snape stopped abruptly when his gaze fell on Bella before he could finish speaking.
"What did the Dark Lord tell you to do?"
"What's it to you?"
Snape gave a cold laugh and continued.
"My mission is directly under the Dark Lord. Since he hasn't told you these things, I don't think you need to know them."
Bella glared at Snape but didn't say anything more.
Narcissa, standing to the side, waved her hand, signaling the two of them not to argue there.
It's hard to imagine that of the four people present, three were undercover agents.
There are three-sided undercover agents, two-sided undercover agents, and one-sided undercover agents.
This demonstrates that the wizarding world is also evolving with the times, gradually transforming the simple act of a few wizards wielding wands and hacking at each other into an "information war" within the Muggle world.
Admittedly, this is a lame joke.
"The Dark Lord wants you to find a way to take Harry to the Department of Mysteries to retrieve the Prophecy Orb."
"Do you have any thoughts?"
Because Shaun took over Harry's Occlumency training and there was no "suspension of training" as in the original books, Voldemort's plan to fabricate false memories in Harry's mind to lure him to the Department of Mysteries failed.
In this situation—
Voldemort could only use Voldemort himself, the most deeply rooted mole, to carry out this plan.
"no."
Snape shook his head decisively.
"It's difficult to do. My relationship with Harry isn't good. He doesn't trust me and he won't listen to me."
That's still an overstatement.
It wasn't just "not good"; before Harry saw Snape's memories, Harry had even considered sending Snape to Azkaban more than once.
Bella scoffed and said dismissively.
"Didn't you boast of your great abilities and that the Dark Lord valued you highly? How come—you can't even handle a brat now?"
Snape ignored Bella and turned his gaze to Narcissa.
"Even if you haven't met Harry, you should have heard about his personality from Draco. Especially now that he's so close to that Phillips guy—even if I wanted to get close to him, there's a possibility that Phillips would find out my plan."
Even after arriving at Snape's place, Narcissa never expected to hear that bastard Phillips' name again.
Just thinking about what happened between me and that bastard...
Narcissa gritted her teeth, suppressing her anger, and asked softly.
"So what do you plan to do?"
Snape was silent for a moment, then said in a low voice, "Unless there is someone he trusts who can guide him to the past—"
I can't intervene directly, but I can create the conditions so that he can "take that path" on his own.
"For example, who?" Bella pressed on.
"Ron Weasley," Snape said coldly. "He's one of Harry's closest friends. He's easily swayed by his emotions—loyal to his friends, but a bit dim-witted."
Bella sneered: "You want to control that little redhead? He's not a Death Eater."
"I don't need him to become a Death Eater."
Snape calmly downed the wine in his glass.
"All I need is for him to believe he's helping Harry. For example, a clue, an old file about his father working at the Ministry of Magic, a classified object, or a sealed memory."
"Add a little psychological suggestion."
"Make him believe that the clues to Harry's parents' deaths are hidden there, and that the answers can only be found in the Department of Mysteries."
""
Narcissa nodded slightly, her eyes filled with complex emotions.
"You mean, have Ron take Harry and make them believe they're uncovering the truth?"
“That’s right.” Snape’s gaze was icy. “We don’t need to control Harry, we just need to control Ron’s curiosity and protectiveness. The rest, he’ll walk in on his own.”
"Can you do it?" Bella was still unconvinced.
"I taught that boy for five years, and I know his cleverness inside and out."
"Snape said dismissively."
"With a little guidance, he will fall into the trap."
A moment of silence fell over the room. Narcissa seemed lost in thought, while Bella remained skeptical.
And so, the plan was decided.
Just as Bella was preparing to take Narcissa away from Snape, that awful place.
Narcissa stopped at the doorway, looking hesitant.
He looked like he wanted to say something but couldn't bring himself to.
"What's wrong, Narcissa?" Snape asked.
Narcissa's eyes suddenly welled up with tears, and she stammered as she spoke.
"I...I heard a rumor—"
"What rumor?"
"Lucius told me when he came back a couple of days ago, 'My son, Draco—'"
Bella frowned slightly, understanding dawning on her.
This isn't a rumor, it's Voldemort's plan:
Simply put, one could have Draco infiltrate Hogwarts, betray them at a crucial moment, kill Dumbledore, and seize the Elder Wand; or kill Phillips and consolidate Hogwarts.
This plan is of course impossible to realize.
Lucius could not possibly allow his son to carry out such a dangerous plan, much less Voldemort's plan, and certainly not his master.
But Narcissa was unaware of this.
The fact that they were Voldemort's moles was too important to tell anyone.
Therefore, from Narcissa's perspective:
It seems that Lucius, the husband, chose to put Draco at risk for Voldemort's sake.
But this "choice" may not truly be a free choice.
Lucius was unwilling to let Draco take the risk, but under Voldemort's pressure, he had no choice but to make this decision "reluctantly".
Narcissa hadn't slept well for several days after hearing this "rumor".
His own son was going to fight Dumbledore?
How could that be?
How to deal with Phillips?
It's even more impossible—that bastard Phillips is so cunning that he could make Draco get sold out and still count the money for him.
From any perspective, neither of them were people her precious son could possibly "outsmart." No one knows a son better than his mother, and she understood Draco's abilities more clearly than anyone else.
but-
Thankfully, it's just a rumor.
Narcissa sighed inwardly, looked up at Snape, and hoped that he would respond that the "rumor" was nothing but "baseless".
But—Snape shattered Narcissa's illusions.
"I happen to know about this plan."
A plan? Not just a rumor?
Narcissa keenly caught Snape's choice of words, and her body went limp.
Bella quickly helped her poor sister up.
"This...this is the plan?"
"The Dark Lord forbade me to talk about this, so you shouldn't know either—did Lucius tell you?"
'
"No, no, I just guessed."
Narcissa shook her head frantically, and Bella helped her into the house, where the three of them sat down again.
"I happen to know some of it."
"I guessed you knew about this; the Dark Lord trusted you so much—"
As Narcissa spoke, her identity as a mother brought her back to her senses at this crucial moment, and she looked at Snape solemnly.
"You'll help me, won't you?"
"How can I possibly help you?"
Snape countered with a question, then poured himself another glass of wine.
"Once the Dark Lord has made up his mind, no one can change it. If you expect me to persuade him, that's as difficult as climbing to the heavens—forgive my bluntness, but there's absolutely no chance."
'
Narcissa's face turned deathly pale again.
"W-What should we do?"
Bella looked at her sister with a mixture of sympathy, helplessness, and impatience.
Narcissa's actions truly disrupted the original plan.
She really didn't want any more unexpected variables to arise from the plan.
"Whatever the plan, since the Dark Lord has given the order, it should be carried out. Draco should understand this and accept it readily—it is a great honor for both Draco and the Malfoy family."
"You don't understand!"
Narcissa sharply interrupted Bella.
"That's because he's still young and doesn't understand what this really means!"
Snape watched the two sisters argue without saying a word.
"Severus, Severus, you must have a way to help me, right?"
Narcissa grasped at a straw like a drowning person.
He looked at Snape again and pleaded.
"Severus—please, you're Lucius's old friend, Draco's favorite teacher at school—and the Dark Lord's confidant, can you—can you?"
The poor woman was greeted by Snape's head shake.
"Please allow me to reiterate once again, the Dark Lord's decisions are never to be changed. Moreover, I think—the Dark Lord sent Draco to do this first to lay the groundwork for me. If he fails, then I will carry it out—you know, if Draco succeeds, I can stay at Hogwarts a little longer."
'
'
Narcissa left. She left dejectedly.
Lucius is still around; Snape is a straw, but not the last one.
If we're talking about the last one—
Narcissa already had someone in mind.
If—she meant if—Draco were truly in danger, she would do anything for him.
That includes contacting a jerk.
Narcissa was absolutely certain that no one could come up with a better idea than that bastard in this situation.
The smell of war began to spread this summer.
Serious incidents occur frequently in many places.
This atmosphere is hard to describe in words; the distance between people has changed.
Even those with a less keen sense of smell noticed that the wizarding world was now completely different from what it had been a few years ago.
Time seems to have come full circle, and we've returned to those turbulent days of more than a decade ago.
The Ministry of Magic issued a statement regarding this situation:
Ministry of Magic Announcement (No. 52)
The wizarding world is currently under threat from a third-rate organization calling itself the Death Eaters. Adhere to the following safety guidelines:
1. All wizarding families should check the integrity of their protective magic at least twice a day. Uninvited visitors should be refused entry, and special attention should be paid to disguises, shapeshifting, or counterfeit polysaccharides.
2. When going out, be sure to use trusted teleportation points, avoid using frequent or public paths, and avoid walking alone in alleys or open areas at night. It is recommended to travel in pairs and change your travel routes regularly.
3. Maintain daily contact with at least two trusted friends or family members. If you are out of contact for 24 consecutive hours, you must report it to the Ministry of Magic.
4. Do not pick up items of unknown origin, and do not touch letters, packages or Floo powder delivered by unfamiliar owls. If you encounter unfamiliar magical fluctuations in your home, immediately notify the Emergency Division of the Ministry of Magic.
5. Educate your children to avoid exposure to dangerous ideas and books, and regularly check their correspondence and wand usage records. If any family member exhibits unusual behavior (slow speech, glazed eyes, or repeated chanting of spells), they may have been afflicted by the Imperius Curse and must be reported to the Ministry of Magic.
6. It is strictly forbidden to discuss "that person's" name or any content related to Dumbledore.
Even Dumbledore himself probably couldn't believe it.
He was surprised that one day he could be listed on the same page as Voldemort and even the Death Eaters.
At the very bottom of the announcement, there is a warning in bold red text:
The Ministry of Magic has taken over all matters of law enforcement, defense, interrogation, education, and speech. You only need to obey, cooperate, and trust.
There's also a very fitting slogan:
Safety is not something to be taken for granted; order comes from obedience.
In these extraordinary times, time flies by, but not all places maintain a tense atmosphere; some places are like paradises.
The Burrow.
That day, the Weasleys sat around the table having breakfast.
Several owls flapped their wings and flew into the kitchen through the window, feathers flying everywhere. Jam jars on the table were overturned, and pushers were sent flying all over the place.
"oops!"
Molly shrieked, frantically grabbing an owl that had nearly crashed into the soup pot, and complained.
"Why have all these owls gathered today?"
As Arthur looked at the letters, something suddenly occurred to him.
"Today is the day the OWLs. and NEWT results are released." He said, untying an envelope from the leg of an owl stuck in a window frame. "Here, Ron, this is for you. Fred, George—"
Ron nervously accepted the envelope, but before he could even open it, he could already hear his two older brothers cheering.
"We passed!"
George slapped the table excitedly, forgetting all about breakfast.
"Five of our subjects received grades of E or higher—we did it!! Now we can open the shop!!"
The entire kitchen fell silent for a moment.
Molly stared wide-eyed at the twins, her lips slightly parted, incredulous. "You—you're serious?"
"Of course, Mom," Fred said with a proud smile. "Even though we're not very interested in school, we still have to get decent grades."
Meanwhile, Ron had already opened the envelope.
He stared at his report card, unsure whether to be happy or worried, and read aloud to himself:
Passing score for the Common Wizard Level Exam:
Excellent (0) Good (E) Pass (A)
Unsatisfactory results:
Poor (P) Very poor (D) Extremely poor (T)
Ron Weasley's grades are as follows:
Astronomy (A)
Protect the magical creatures (E)
Charms (E)
Defense Against the Dark Arts (E)
Divination (P)
Herbalism (E)
History of Magic (P)
Potions (E)
Transfiguration (E)
Ron stared at the parchment for a while, then suddenly burst out laughing.
Six doors. Six doors E.
Only the history of magic and divination failed to pass.
Who cares about those two courses anyway?
Seeing Ron's happy expression, the Weasleys already knew the results.
"We need an extra meal. We absolutely must have an extra meal," she said.
