Chapter 434 Luna's Decision (Bonus Chapter)

She was naked, her hands were placed on her abdomen, her eyes were closed, and her face had her usual serene expression, as if she had entered a very relaxed meditative state.

He was so quiet that he seemed to be part of the room.

But for Sean, her appearance undoubtedly made the atmosphere in the room tense.

"Luna?" Sean's voice was a little hoarse, and he called out to her almost subconsciously.

Luna slowly opened her eyes, a faint smile on her lips: "Uncle Hack, you're back."

Sean didn't know what to say for a moment, and frowned as he looked at her.

"Luna, why are you here?"

Luna didn't answer immediately, but instead slowly sat up, propping herself up on her elbows.

This action left her naked body completely exposed to Sean.

Luna didn't seem nervous at all; it was her usual ethereal demeanor that made her appear incredibly composed, making everything seem so natural.

She tilted her head, as if thinking about it seriously, before saying softly, "I just think you might need someone to be with you."

"Your father lives next door. If he knew you were here with me—"

"Dad won't mind," Luna gently interrupted him. "He has always respected my choices."

After saying that, Luna slowly climbed off the bed, stepped barefoot onto the floor, and gently walked to Sean, taking a deep sniff.

"Uncle Huck, you're... no more bothering me."

Sean paused for a moment, then looked down at Luna, who was standing almost inches away.

"Now...it's happening again," Luna said softly, her hand slowly moving upwards. "Besides the harassment, I also smelled someone else...Sophia, is she Uncle Hack's daughter?"

Sean's gaze instantly became complicated. He stared at Luna's clear, mirror-like blue eyes, and a surge of emotions welled up inside him—surprise, doubt, and an indescribable, subtle feeling.

How did she know?

"She smells just like you," Luna explained, as if she could sense Sean's confusion.

However, this ambiguous explanation did not satisfy Sean.

"Same taste?" Sean repeated.

The long separation between them almost made him forget the "normal" way he and Luna used to interact.

His gaze lingered on Luna's face for a moment, trying to find more answers in her seemingly harmless and innocent expression, but Luna remained calm and composed, with her usual gentle smile on her face, completely unaware that she had said anything surprising.

"Yes," Luna nodded, as if stating a perfectly natural fact, "Uncle Hack, you have a very special scent, a reassuring one, like sun-drenched pages of a book, or the breeze in a spring forest. Sofia has that scent too, only a fainter one, I guess it's because of our bloodline."

Sean sighed helplessly and rubbed his forehead.

He didn't know how to continue the conversation. Luna's keenness always exceeded his expectations, and her innocent directness left him speechless.

Just as he was organizing his thoughts, Luna suddenly turned around and took out a clear wine bottle from under the covers. It had been warmed by her body heat and contained a pale golden liquid.

She held up the bottle, tilted her head to look at Sean, and asked, "Uncle Hara, have you ever had this?"

"What is this?" Sean looked at the bottle of wine and suddenly thought of some unpleasant memories.

"It's 'Moonlight Dew' that Daddy made," Luna said softly, a hint of pride in her voice. "It's a special kind of magical wine; just a small sip can relax you and make you forget all the things that are bothering you."

"Luna" Sean tried to stop her, but Luna had already quickly unscrewed the cap, giving him no time to react.

"Don't worry, Uncle Huck." Luna smiled languidly, tilted her head back and drank it all in one gulp. The golden liquid quickly slid from the bottle's mouth into her mouth, and through the firelight, you could even see the elegant lines of her throat move slightly with the movement.

Sean was stunned, completely unprepared for Luna's direct action.

He quickly stepped forward, trying to stop her from drinking any more, but Luna had already put down the bottle, a satisfied smile on her lips, and let out a soft burp.

"Luna, are you crazy?" Sean reached out to snatch the bottle, but Luna quickly hid it behind her back.

"Don't worry, Uncle Huck," Na said with a smile, a faint blush rising on her face, as if the alcohol was starting to take effect. "It's just a very light liquor that Dad brewed; to me, it's like drinking a glass of warm milk."

Sean rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on.

He looked at her slightly flushed cheeks and her still clear eyes, and couldn't help but sigh: "Luna, you really shouldn't be so casual, especially..."

"In front of you?" Luna suddenly interrupted him, her tone light and cheerful. "Uncle Hack, I know what I'm doing."

I just feel that sometimes you're too tense, always adhering to rules and boundaries. I don't like seeing you like that—it makes me feel like you're not happy.

Sean was speechless, unable to respond.

"Uncle Hack," Luna suddenly leaned closer, her voice lowering, "I know Sophia is important to you. You are important to me too. So, I don't want to see you trapped by those rules and regulations, becoming just like everyone else."

"Luna—" Sean spoke in a low voice, his brows furrowed slightly, "You've been too talkative and too direct today."

"Because I want you to know what I'm thinking." Luna chuckled softly, her voice, slightly tinged with drunkenness, like the night wind. "I know you might not be used to me acting this way, but I don't want to wait until the future to make you understand."

"I like the feeling of authenticity, like my father's moonlight dew—it's pure, and I hope my emotions are pure too."

"Just like... how I feel about my mother."

She stood there, seemingly wanting to say something more, but suddenly stopped, as if overwhelmed by some emotion.

Sean frowned, realizing that her mood seemed to have subtly changed.

His tone softened slightly: "Luna, if you're tired, go back to your room and get some rest. We've talked enough today."

However, Luna did not turn and leave as he expected.

She stood quietly in place, bowed her head and remained silent for a moment, then suddenly said softly, "I just... miss my mother so much."

These words were like a needle, piercing through her usual aloof protective shell and making Sean's heart tighten suddenly.

Luna looked up, her blue eyes glistening with tears. "You know what? Sometimes, I feel like I'm almost forgetting what my mother looked like. She left us so early, and so many memories, like dreams, are becoming increasingly blurry. I know my father is sad too."

But he never said it.

As she spoke, she slowly turned around and went back to bed, curling up in the blankets like a helpless child, her shoulders trembling slightly, and low sobs coming from under the covers.

Sean stood there, unsure of what to do.

He rarely saw Luna show this kind of emotion—the last time was that very day.

So he slowly walked to the bedside, hesitated for a moment, then gently sat down, reached out and patted her shoulder: "Luna, I'm sorry, I didn't know you were feeling this way today. I—maybe I'm not very good at comforting people, but if you're willing to talk, I'll listen."

Luna peeked out from under the covers, her eyes as moist as a forest after a rain, tears leaving fine streaks on her pale cheeks.

She looked at Sean, her voice weak and hoarse: "Thank you, Uncle Huck. I just feel—I'm really lonely all by myself."

Sean frowned slightly and said gently, "Luna, you're not alone. You have your father, you have friends, and many people who care about you. If you feel sad, you can always tell us, or—tell me."

Luna's eyes flickered, as if touched by his words. She slowly propped herself up and sat up, her shoulders trembling slightly, yet she still appeared fragile and helpless.

"But Uncle Huck, sometimes I feel like I can't hold onto anything." Her voice was low and trembling slightly. "I feel like everything in the world will leave me, like my mother, like everyone who has ever been close to me—"

Looking at her like this, Sean felt a mix of emotions welling up inside him.

He moved forward, getting closer: "Luna, it's not like that. Those who truly love you and care about you will not leave you. You are special, and you deserve to be cherished."

Luna looked up and stared intently at him.

She sniffed and said softly, "Uncle Huck, I'm so grateful to have you by my side all this time—I don't know what I would do without you."

After saying that, she suddenly raised her hand and grasped Sean's wrist. Although the force was not strong, it carried an unexpected firmness. She leaned forward and gently kissed his lips.

Sean could have avoided it, but seeing Luna's tearful face, he softened and let her go.

But Luna's hands slid restlessly behind Sean, gently unbuckled his belt, and pulled down his loose trousers.
