Chapter 394 (Bonus Chapter) Dual Casting
A few seconds later, the werewolf stood up, its long mouth opening wide to reveal sharp teeth.
It let out a deafening roar.
The next instant, Sirius disappeared beside Harry.
He transformed—the enormous black dog roared and leaped toward the werewolf like a black lightning bolt.
Just as the werewolf broke free, the dog pounced on its neck, biting down hard with its strong jaws and desperately dragging it away from Harry and Pettigrew.
The werewolf struggled, scratching and clawing wildly, while the black dog held on tightly. The two beasts were locked in a fierce struggle, tearing at each other, their roars echoing through the silent night.
"Get out of the way, Sirius!" Sean shouted.
The black dog and the werewolf were tearing at each other fiercely, but upon hearing Sean's voice, the black dog took a step back, watching the werewolf warily, growling softly, ready to pounce again at any moment.
Sean raised his wand, his gaze sharp as lightning, locking onto Lupin's distorted figure.
The werewolf continued to howl, its hind legs bracing themselves, preparing to pounce on Blake again.
"Faint down!" Sean decisively chanted the spell, and a dazzling beam of light shot towards the werewolf.
The light struck Lupin's chest, sending his massive body staggering back several steps before he roared and crashed to the ground.
Without pausing, Sean waved his wand again: "Binding Charm!" Silver chains appeared out of thin air, binding Lupin's limbs and body tightly. The werewolf struggled and howled, but the chains tightened more and more, completely restricting its movements.
Just as everyone breathed a sigh of relief, Harry suddenly shouted, "Peter Pettigrew! He's gone!"
Everyone quickly looked around, only to find that Little Pettigrew had taken advantage of the chaos to transform into a rat and escape.
Where he was originally bound, all that remained was a patch of mud and a few empty chains.
"Damn it!" Sirius Black, reverting to human form, slammed his fist into the ground in anger, the sound echoing loudly. "I knew this cowardly traitor would take the opportunity to escape!"
Before anyone else could react, he suddenly stood up, turned and rushed into the night, disappearing without a trace.
Everyone paused for a moment, their gazes involuntarily turning to the only composed person in the group—Sean.
Just as he was about to give the order, a sharp bark came from the darkness in the distance, followed by a low and painful wail that broke the silence of the night.
"Sirius!" Harry shouted, turning sharply in the direction the sound came from.
After only a moment's hesitation, Harry took off running towards the direction from which the sound came.
The barking grew closer, and Harry ran at full speed, a wave of cold washing over him, but he didn't immediately realize what it was.
All he knew was that he had to find Blake and stop something terrible from happening.
Suddenly, the barking stopped abruptly.
The others behind Harry followed him to the lakeside, slowing their pace as the sight before them made their hearts sink.
Sirius had transformed back into human form, curled up on the ground, his hands covering his head, his body trembling slightly.
"No—" he groaned softly, his voice broken and pained, "No—please don't—"
Then Harry saw them—Dementors.
At least a hundred Dementors, like a black ocean, slowly approached from the lakeside.
Their faces were shrouded in long hoods, and their tattered robes fluttered in the cold wind, like shadows of death.
Harry quickly turned around, his gaze sweeping across his surroundings. The chill penetrated deeper into his bones, his vision began to blur with mist, and the cold seeped into the depths of his lungs, making it difficult to breathe several times.
More Dementors emerged from the darkness, shadows gradually engulfing their vision, and the cold and fear relentlessly surrounded them from all sides.
Harry's hand trembled as he reached for his wand. He knew he had to do something, but the oppressive feeling was beginning to erode his will. Just as Harry was feeling desperate, a deep voice came from the darkness:
"Guardian Angel Spell!"
A silvery-white light, like a bolt of lightning, tore through the night sky, instantly illuminating the darkness by the lake.
A giant silver wolf leaped out of the light, roaring as it charged toward the Dementors. Its agile figure carried an irresistible force, forcing the Dementors back.
Sean emerged from the shadows, wand raised high, his aura so powerful it was breathtaking, as if he himself were a barrier against this despair.
"Everyone, come closer to me!" he whispered the command.
Harry and Hermione instinctively moved closer to him, while Sophia and Ron were already hiding behind him, clinging tightly to his robes and refusing to let go.
Sirius struggled to lift his head from the ground, his face still contorted in pain, but the silver wolf's light restored some of his consciousness.
Sean's silver wolf guardian spirit weaved through the Dementors, its sharp teeth and claws tearing through the dark shadows and forcing them back to the lake.
However, there were simply too many Dementors. Although they seemed to shrink back in the face of the light, they still stubbornly approached them step by step.
"Guardian Angel Spell!" Sean's voice rang out again, but this time it was even louder than before.
To everyone's astonishment, he pulled out a second wand and waved both hands almost simultaneously.
Two beams of silvery-white light shot out from the two wands at incredible speed, their rays intertwining and streaking through the darkness like two shooting stars.
Two enormous silver wolves leaped out of the light, howling as they pounced on the Dementors, their sharp claws and teeth tearing through the oppressive darkness.
The guardian spirits emerged continuously from Sean's two wands, their powerful silver light illuminating the entire lakeside as if it were daytime.
Each burst of light forced the Dementors to retreat a little.
Ron gripped Sean's robe tightly, his face filled with undisguised shock and awe. He murmured, "Professor Phillips."
Doesn't he need rest? Is his magic inexhaustible?
"Shut up, Ron!" Hermione snapped, but her gaze was equally stunned.
Is this even human?!
The book clearly states that casting a Patronus Charm requires immense concentration, magic power, and joy; all three are indispensable, and a single complete Patronus Charm is enough to leave most wizards exhausted.
Professor Phillips—not only casting a double Patronus Charm simultaneously, but also continuously dispelling Dementors with the light of the silver wolf—seemed to have magic as an inexhaustible source of energy for him.
"This is impossible," Hermione muttered to herself, but her gaze remained fixed on Sean.
Meanwhile, Sean's two silver wolves had already stirred up a storm among the Dementors.
They roared as they moved through the crowd, their sharp claws and fangs sending a swarm of Dementors helplessly retreating into the darkness with each swing.
A few minutes later, Sean suddenly stepped forward, his wands flashing in both hands, and two huge beams of silver light shot out from them, forming a giant net of light that forced the last batch of Dementors into the lake.
The dark figures let out a piercing wail before finally vanishing without a trace.
Its daybreak.
