Chapter 368 Blueberry and Chive Dumplings
Sirius nodded knowingly upon hearing Sean's words.
If Sean hadn't reminded him, he would have almost forgotten Harry's hidden attribute.
That's James's son, his godson—as his godfather, he should know what this kid is capable of... If he doesn't keep a close eye on him, Harry will probably try every means to sneak back and continue celebrating with his Gryffindor classmates.
Thinking of this, he patted his chest and solemnly promised Sean.
"Don't worry, Harry isn't going anywhere tonight. I'll be here watching him the whole time, and no matter what tricks he tries, he won't get away from me."
Sean nodded in satisfaction and smiled slightly.
"Great, I'm relieved to have you here. Thank you for your hard work, Sirius."
Sirius Black raised an eyebrow, a slight smile playing on his lips. "It would be my honor. I wouldn't mind being a 'prison warden,' especially when dealing with a 'little escapee' like Harry."
Sean smiled slightly, turned and left, disappearing at the end of the corridor.
Sirius returned to the infirmary, leaned against the door, crossed his arms, and watched Harry's every move from the shadows.
Just then, Harry quietly got out of bed and moved cautiously toward the other side of the infirmary, his eyes filled with trepidation.
He thought "Filch" had already left, and secretly tried to sneak back to the common room under the cover of night to join everyone's celebration.
Sirius Black couldn't help but chuckle to himself as he witnessed this, a sly smile playing on his lips, but he maintained Filch's characteristic stern expression.
As Harry carefully made his way to the door of the infirmary, preparing to slip out, Sirius Black suddenly jumped out and hissed in Filch's hoarse voice, "Potter, where are you going?"
Harry was startled and turned around abruptly to see "Filch" standing with his arms crossed, staring at him coldly with a smug look in his eyes, like a cat catching a mouse.
He swallowed hard and quickly fabricated an excuse: "Listen—Mr. Filch, I just—I just forgot something." In the common room, Sirius raised an eyebrow and said gloomily, "Oh? You think I'd believe such a lame excuse? You're not thinking of sneaking back to continue celebrating, are you?" His voice was laced with sarcasm, revealing Filch's usual disdain.
Harry scratched his head awkwardly, trying to hide his embarrassment at being caught: "Well, actually—I just wanted to see—how everyone's doing."
Sirius Black sighed deliberately, feigning anger, and said, "Potter, you're staying here tonight. Don't give me any more excuses. Otherwise, I'll file a complaint against Mrs. Pomfrey and have her lock the infirmary doors permanently."
Harry reluctantly raised his hands in surrender, saying with a wry smile, "Fine, fine, I'll stay here—"
Sirius nodded contentedly, watched Harry sit back on the bed, sighed, gently patted his shoulder, and whispered in a low voice, "Stay put, Harry. There will be plenty of opportunities to celebrate with everyone once you're healed."
Harry paused for a moment, sensing an unusual warmth in "Filch's" voice, but he quickly dismissed the thought, lay down, and closed his eyes.
Sirius Black, meanwhile, remained at the door to make sure Harry didn't sneak away again, a relieved smile on his face.
Harry gently tapped the pear in the fruit picture on the wall in the hallway, and the picture instantly opened, revealing a low door.
As soon as Harry entered the kitchen, he was immediately surrounded by excited elves, all of whom bowed and saluted, their eyes sparkling, seemingly also incredibly proud of Gryffindor's victory.
"Congratulations, Mr. Potter!" said an older elf, his voice full of respect. "What a great day!"
Harry smiled and thanked the house-elves, relaying Professor Phillips's request.
The little elves immediately got busy, cheerfully preparing various snacks and drinks, and even sprinkling red and gold powdered sugar on the puddings and cakes, arranging them neatly on the tray.
Harry smiled as he watched the busy elves, then suddenly an idea struck him. A mischievous look appeared on his face as he said, "Gryffindor won today, so we need something special to celebrate. Could you make some different kinds of treats?"
The elves stopped what they were doing, looked up, and awaited his further instructions with anticipation. One elf tilted his head and asked respectfully, "Mr. Potter, what special treat would you like?"
Harry blinked, as if deep in thought, then said, "Hmm—could you make a pumpkin pie, but with some beetroot in it—cut into heart shapes, okay?" He deliberately lowered his voice, continuing with a playful yet earnest expression, "And cream frog pudding, with—strawberry jam?"
The elves exchanged glances, a hint of surprise on their faces, but quickly regained their serious and dedicated expressions, nodding repeatedly: "Yes, Mr. Potter! Pumpkin beetroot heart-shaped pie and creamy frog strawberry jam pudding, are ready for you right away!"
Harry watched them busily working away, and couldn't help but grin. He then added, "Also, I'd like a few plates of fried frog legs with mint chocolate, sprinkled with red and gold powdered sugar for decoration. Doesn't that sound festive?"
As if struck by a sudden thought, "Harry" continued to give orders as if reciting a menu.
"Oh, and there are also blueberry and chive dumplings."
"Grind cilantro into powder, mix it with cheese, and then sandwich it in pasta."
"Remember, I also want a serving of watermelon scrambled eggs."
The elves were visibly taken aback by these even more unusual requests, a hint of doubt flickering in their eyes, but they still replied respectfully, "Of course, Mr. Potter! We will prepare your specially ordered celebratory feast immediately!"
The little elves immediately got busy, and the kitchen was filled with clattering sounds. Before long, plates of strange food were brought out.
Pumpkin and beet heart-shaped pie, creamy frog and strawberry pudding, mint chocolate fried frog legs sprinkled with red and gold powder - and of course, the three dishes that "Harry" added at the end.
Harry looked at the strange pile of food with satisfaction and couldn't help but laugh out loud.
He turned and said goodbye to the busy elves, smiling as he picked up the tray, which was full of the "special celebration meal" carefully prepared by the elves, and walked out of the kitchen, secretly pleased with himself.
Back at the portrait door in the Gryffindor common room, Harry took a deep breath, picked up the tray, and tapped the portrait's opening.
"Playboy," he said in the code, and the portrait slowly opened.
Inside, the students were still celebrating enthusiastically, and the entire common room was filled with laughter and joy, with red and gold flags gleaming on the walls.
"Harry's back!" Ron shouted excitedly as soon as he saw "Harry".
He hurried over, paused for a moment when he saw the "snacks" on the tray, then burst into laughter: "Harry, where did you get these? I've never seen such 'unique' snacks before!"
"This is specially prepared for the celebration!" Harry said proudly. "Let everyone try Gryffindor's unique victory treat!"
Hermione leaned closer curiously, and seeing the unusual hearts on the tray, she couldn't help but show a surprised and amused expression: "Harry, did you really bring these back? What are these?"
"Pumpkin and beet heart-shaped pie, creamy frog and strawberry pudding, and mint chocolate fried frog legs!" Harry excitedly introduced, "These are special desserts made to commemorate today's great victory."
A mischievous glint flashed in Fred and George's eyes. They each picked up a slice of pumpkin and beet heart-shaped pie, took a bite, looked at each other for a moment, and then burst out laughing. "Harry, this is definitely your most outrageous idea, but—it tastes pretty good!"
Angelina and Aria were skeptical of the desserts, but after cautiously taking a bite of the creamy frog pudding, they immediately exclaimed in surprise, "It's actually quite delicious!"
Harry was genuinely pleased to see everyone starting to try these "specially made" desserts.
He was already planning the next "surprise" in his mind. Pointing to the last few dishes on the tray, he feigned excitement and said with a smile, "Everyone hasn't tried these yet! These are blueberry and chive dumplings, cilantro and cheese spaghetti, and the one I'm most looking forward to—watermelon and scrambled eggs!"
Upon hearing this, everyone looked at each other, their expressions shifting from curiosity to confusion, and even a bit of shock.
Ron frowned as he looked at the plate of blueberry and chive dumplings. "Hey Harry, are you sure this is edible? Blueberries with chives? What kind of cuisine is this?"
Harry chuckled smugly and said with feigned seriousness, "This is a special flavor that came from the North! On such a special day, we should definitely eat something different!"
Hermione forced a smile, though her face was full of doubt, but out of politeness she picked up a piece of chive and blueberry dumpling and put it in her mouth.
The moment she took a bite, her expression froze from a smile to one of forbearance, clearly struggling to suppress the strange taste.
After swallowing, she laughed awkwardly, "Listen—this combination—is indeed quite unique."
Fred and George, not to be outdone, also took a few bites. After finishing, they exchanged a glance, and George said jokingly, "Harry, how about you consider opening a weird-tasting restaurant? I think it might be a whole new flavor in the wizarding world!"
Fred laughed heartily and nodded in agreement:
"Absolutely! Blueberry and chive dumplings? If we could get these at the next Hogwarts Feast, it would be truly one of a kind!"
Angelina chuckled, pinched her nose, and took a bite of the watermelon and scrambled eggs, her expression quite complex: "Harry, your idea is truly amazing—but, well—the taste is just too unforgettable."
Meanwhile, the other students also tried the cilantro and cheese spaghetti and the watermelon scrambled eggs. Their expressions were varied. Some tried hard to hold back their laughter, some showed expressions of endurance, and some simply nibbled on the food, laughing and teasing Harry about his "unique taste."
Of course, there are also special cases among these people.
For example... Sophia, she just stood there quietly watching "Harry" share his "food".
Harry observed that when she saw him carrying dumplings in, her eyes brightened slightly... until she heard the words "blueberry and chives," she subtly frowned, stepped back behind the crowd, and even looked at him with a strange expression.
For example... Lavender.
She carefully picked up a blueberry and chive dumpling, examined it closely, and then put it in her mouth without hesitation, revealing a satisfied expression with her eyes full of surprise.
"Oh, Harry, that's a brilliant idea!" Lavender exclaimed excitedly, chewing as he praised, "The flavors of blueberries and chives actually complement each other surprisingly well! A unique blend of sweet and sour with a hint of spice!"
The students around her stared at her incredulously, and Fred couldn't help but burst out laughing: "Lavender, are you serious? These are blueberry and chive dumplings!"
Lavender remained unmoved, instead saying earnestly, "You don't understand! It's precisely because of its unique flavor that it's good. Not all food has to be paired in the conventional way." She then reached for the creamy frog and strawberry pudding on the tray, scooped up a spoonful, and clapped her hands happily after tasting it. "And this, Harry, you're a genius! The smoothness of this pudding combined with the sweet and sour taste of the strawberries is so rich!"
"Harry" is a bit wrong on the side.
No wonder blueberry dumplings are so popular in Europe.
Therefore, it's not without reason.
Seeing Lavender's enthusiasm, he decided to continue "encouraging" her: "Lavender, you really know your food! These are all specially made for the celebration. You should also try the cilantro and cheese pasta; cheese and cilantro are simply the perfect combination."
Lavender nodded expectantly, quickly picked up a large mouthful of spaghetti, and exclaimed as he tasted it, "Mmm! The richness of the cheese and the freshness of the cilantro are perfectly combined! I can't believe it, Harry, that you have such a talent for creating food."
Hermione couldn't help but shake her head, looking at Lavender with a wry smile: "Lavender, I think your sense of taste might be a little different from ours."
Lavender chuckled nonchalantly, raising an eyebrow. "Maybe," he said, "but I think Harry's idea is really interesting. Eating these is much more fun than regular pies and cakes!"
As night deepened, the merriment in the Gryffindor common room gradually subsided.
The students' laughter became gentle and languid, and many leaned back in their chairs with satisfied smiles on their faces.
The air was still filled with the faint aroma of cream, cheese, and blueberry chive dumplings—Lavender's fervent praise of these "delicacies" became one of the amusing things of the evening, and everyone couldn't help but laugh whenever they mentioned it.
Fred and George yawned deeply, leaned against each other, and joked, "Harry's menu is truly revolutionary; our future restaurant might need to consider this kind of idea."
"Harry" waved with a smile, "Don't worry, this is a special edition for tonight, only available once. You won't get to eat it again!"
Angelina stood up, stretched, and rubbed her sore shoulders. "Alright, tonight was wonderful. But we need to go back to our rooms and rest. We still have to study tomorrow—after all, exams are coming up soon."
Hermione nodded in agreement, smiling at Harry: "Yes, today's victory is worth celebrating, but we still have a lot to work on. Harry, you did a fantastic job today, but don't forget to keep working on your homework."
For once, Harry didn't show any signs of distress at Hermione's lecture; instead, he smiled and nodded.
He looked around and saw the young wizards preparing to return to their dormitories, seemingly lost in thought.
As people gradually dispersed, the lights in the common room dimmed, and the red and gold flags shimmered faintly in the dim candlelight.
Ron yawned and patted Harry on the shoulder: "Good buddy, you were the hero tonight. Come on, we should get some rest too." Harry smiled, stood up with Ron, and slowly walked towards the stairs.
The common room behind me gradually quieted down, leaving only the soft flickering of the fire in the fireplace. Tonight... was destined to be an exceptionally lively night.
