Chapter 220 Dumbledore is a Thief
After a fierce struggle, Sean let Bella go.
He went to his study, picked up a quill pen, and began to write a letter.
To Tonks:
Dear junior, it's as if we're meeting in person.
Recently, Minister Fudge appointed me as an advisor to the Minister of Magic and assigned me to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement to provide guidance.
I know you've always been interested in working with the Aurors, so I applied to Mr. Fudge for the position of consultant assistant, which would allow you to return to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement and participate in the work you enjoy.
And that way, we could see each other every day for the entire summer vacation.
We look forward to your arrival.
Love, Sean.
Sean's second letter was written to...
To Daphne:
My most "outstanding" student, guess who I am.
Who is your most admired Professor Phillips?
Bingo, but there's no reward for guessing correctly.
I need you to write a letter to Penelope; I need her to come to the Ministry of Magic and work with me.
You know what you should do, right?
I don't want to spank anyone anymore, and I sincerely hope you won't give me that chance again.
Read and then burn.
Sean Phillips.
Sean's third letter was written to Penelope's mother, Mrs. Crevat.
To Krivat:
Your Excellency Mrs. Crevat,
Hello, I am Sean Phillips, and I am honored to be Miss Crevatt's professor at Hogwarts.
Here, I would like to give you some feedback on Miss Krivat's outstanding performance during her time at school.
Miss Crevatt not only demonstrated exceptional talent and diligence in her studies, but also showed extraordinary potential in the practice and application of magic.
It is particularly worth mentioning that she spoke to me many times about her aspirations for her future career and expressed a strong desire to work at the British Ministry of Magic after graduation.
Given Miss Krivat's outstanding performance and clear plans for the future, I feel it is my responsibility to provide her with a valuable opportunity.
I have recently been honored to accept an invitation from Minister Fudge to serve as his advisor this summer. Therefore, I would like to make a suggestion: if Miss Crivart is interested, I would be delighted to arrange an internship for her at the Ministry of Magic this summer.
This internship will not only allow Miss Crevatt to experience the working environment of the Ministry of Magic firsthand and gain an in-depth understanding of the operational mechanisms of each department, but it will also provide her with a valuable platform to learn and grow through practice, laying a solid foundation for her future formal entry into the Ministry of Magic.
I believe this will be an experience that will be extremely valuable to her personal abilities and career planning.
Of course, this proposal requires your and Miss Krivat's joint consideration. If you are interested, or have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact me.
I look forward to embarking on this meaningful journey with Miss Krivat and helping her steadily progress toward her dream career path.
I sincerely look forward to your reply and wish you and your family a happy life and all the best.
yours truly,
This letter from Professor Sean Phillips of Hogwarts and advisor to the Minister for Magic to Mrs. Crivart is more formal than the previous two.
After finishing writing, Sean carefully reviewed it to ensure that every word was accurate and every sentence conveyed the proper politeness and respect.
He nodded in satisfaction; it was undoubtedly a standard official letter full of British style.
Then, Sean woke up Nono from her daze by opening the "little world" in his briefcase.
He rolled up the three letters one by one and tied them securely to the owl's leg, making sure they wouldn't fall off. Then, Nono flapped its wings and flew away, quickly disappearing into the night outside the window.
Sean watched Nono leave, closed the window, and turned back to his bedroom.
Now, what he should do is—go to sleep.
good night.
The next morning.
As the first rays of sunlight gently peek through the window and caress the sleeping earth, everything seems to gradually awaken under this tender rousing.
The sky was as clear as if it had been washed by water, and a few leisurely clouds drifted by, adding a touch of liveliness to the tranquil morning. Birdsong rose and fell, as if they were also celebrating the arrival of a new day in their own unique way.
Sean slowly opened his eyes in the warm and gentle morning light, feeling an unprecedented sense of freshness and vitality. He stretched and sat up in bed.
But... when his gaze fell upon the surroundings of the room.
Sean's face turned deathly pale instantly.
The scene in the room was completely different from when he went to sleep. At this moment, it was more like a battlefield after a storm than a bedroom.
The wardrobe door was wide open, and clothes were roughly pulled out and carelessly thrown on the floor; the drawers on the table were also pulled open, and the contents were scattered around—files, notebooks, and small items were mixed together, making the place look particularly messy.
Sean's heart raced, and a sense of foreboding washed over him.
He rushed to the living room and found the situation there was even worse.
The TV cabinet drawers were pulled open, remote controls and CDs were scattered all over the floor, cushions on the sofa were thrown everywhere, and even his most beloved landscape painting hanging on the wall was torn askew, as if the thief, in his haste to find something, did not even spare this last decoration.
The same was true in the study; books on the shelves were haphazardly pulled out and thrown on the floor, some pages torn to shreds, and his briefcase, which he kept in the study, also suffered the same fate.
"What...what's going on?" Sean muttered to himself, a nameless panic gripping his heart.
There are only a handful of people in the world who could sneak into his house silently while he was asleep, ransack it, and do all this without disturbing him, Bella, or the alchemical artifacts used for security.
Sean naturally pictured an old man with silver-white hair, crescent-shaped glasses, blue eyes, and long, slender fingers, cautiously and furtively searching for something in his house late at night.
The case is solved; Dumbledore was the thief.
Of course, that was just a joke.
Sean knew that Dumbledore, given his character, would never commit such a vile, disgusting, heinous, utterly wicked, and utterly despicable act.
Absolutely not.
Dumbledore is such an upright, wise, and loving man; such thoughts are an insult to his character.
Besides, if it was Dumbledore who broke in last night, he should have woken up in his cell in Azkaban while sleeping with Bella in his arms.
Instead of lying safely in their own bedroom.
This absurd idea was quickly rejected by Sean.
So, besides Dumbledore, who else could it be?
Sean's mind raced, and he quickly narrowed his attention down to a few individuals.
But... aside from Voldemort, he had no contact with these people, so why would they go to such lengths...?
While he was thinking, Sean had already returned to his bedroom.
He looked at Bella, who was still fast asleep on the bed, reached out and gently pinched her plump thigh.
Bella slowly opened her eyes, looking at Sean with a confused expression. Her voice was still sleepy and puzzled. "W-what's wrong?"
Sean didn't speak, but gestured for Bella to look around.
Bella followed Sean's gaze, glanced around, and then her expression shifted from sleepiness to confusion, and then to shock. "What...what's going on?"
Sean shook his head, indicating that he was unaware of the situation. "You can't stay with me any longer. It's too dangerous here. You need to move to a safe place."
Bella bit her lower lip, wanting to say something, but swallowed it all back down.
She nodded and silently began to put on her clothes.
While Bella was getting dressed, Sean quickly began checking for any missing items.
He had already mentally prepared himself for the loss of valuable items such as the Hufflepuff Cup and the Ravenclaw Crown.
Strangely, they were still perfectly intact in the briefcase.
The number that decreased... was simply the Galleons that were placed aside like a small mountain.
It's probably less than 20,000?
Sean made an uncertain estimate.
Is it just for money?
This is so strange...
Sean muttered to himself, his brow furrowed.
He turned to Bella and found her already dressed, standing silently to the side waiting.
"Bella, have you noticed anything strange? Or did you sense anything amiss last night?"
Bella shook her head, a hint of confusion flashing in her eyes. "No, Master... last night after you... finished with me... I was just too tired... I couldn't feel anything."
Sean sighed, feeling a wave of frustration.
Without any relevant clues, finding this person from last night would be as difficult as climbing to the sky.
"Alright, let's leave here first. You go to Lucius's place and keep an eye on the factory for me. I'll continue investigating this until I find out the truth." As he spoke, Sean subconsciously reached into his pocket for his mahogany wand, but... his hand found nothing.
Bella noticed Sean's expression and immediately realized something. "Master, your wand is missing?" she asked cautiously.
Sean nodded, his expression growing increasingly grim.
