Chapter 208 Letter

Chapter 208 (Additional update) Letter

Riddle stood up amidst the strange looks from the crowd. Lucius wanted to say something, but he swallowed his words back down.

Riddle addressed the crowd, "Quiet down, I have a few words to say."

Goyle, however, did not give Riddle a chance to speak. In his view, neither Lucius nor the people he brought should be allowed to speak.

So he yelled, raising his voice, "Who do you think you are? You have no right to speak here."

The others were the same, except for Greengrass, who slumped in his chair, his face pale, seemingly lost in thought.

As Riddle slowly removed his hood, Goyle's voice abruptly ceased, as if he had been choked. He stared wide-eyed at Riddle in disbelief.

The others were no better off than Goyle; they too stared wide-eyed at Riddle in astonishment.

Beneath the hood, a familiar yet strikingly different face was revealed, exuding an aura of authority and mystery that compelled one to submit.

"Am I qualified now?" Riddle's voice broke the silence, carrying a chilling undertone.

He looked around, and whenever his gaze fell upon someone, that person would involuntarily lower their head and tremble all over.

Gore was even paler, his fists clenched tightly, trying hard not to show his fear.

However, his eyes betrayed him; they held a deep, undisguised horror.

When Riddle removed his hood, they all suspected that Voldemort was someone Lucius had sent in disguise. But when Riddle's gaze fell on them, the oppressive feeling of death helped them recall twelve years ago.

It can't be faked.

It is precisely because people cannot fake it that they react this way.

Voldemort has returned, does that mean...?

"Very well," Riddle finally spoke, his voice not loud, but clearly reaching everyone's ears, "it seems you all understand what I mean. Well then, we can now begin to discuss the real issues."

"I will not repeat myself twice that I need you to obey Lucius directly."

"Anyone who stands in my way will regret being born; but those who are loyal to me will have everything they desire."

Riddle's few words were far more effective than Lucius's lengthy discourse.

As soon as he finished speaking, everyone present stood up, placed their right arm across their left chest, bowed their heads, and said, "We are willing to die for our master."

Everything was just like it was twelve years ago, as if nothing had changed, yet it also seemed like everything had changed.

When Riddle turned to look at Sean, he found that Sean had disappeared from his seat.

"Little sister, what's your name?" Sean smiled as he looked at the somewhat shy little girl in front of him. His voice was gentle and patient, as warm as the spring sun.

The little girl hesitantly raised her head, her clear eyes sparkling with curiosity and shyness.

She gently bit her lower lip, seemingly unsure whether she should answer the question from this unfamiliar older brother. However, Sean's warm smile and friendly tone gave her a sense of inexplicable peace of mind.

"Astoria..." the little girl finally mustered her courage and answered in her tender and sweet voice.

Upon hearing this, a glint of admiration flashed in Sean's eyes. He bent down, moving closer to Astoria, and said in an even gentler voice, "Astoria, what a beautiful name. Just like you, full of innocence and loveliness."

"Astoria, it's a pleasure to meet you." Sean smiled, took a small gift box from his pocket, and gently handed it to the little girl. "This is for you; I hope you like it."

Astoria stared in surprise at the gift box in front of her, her eyes wide, as if she couldn't believe that this strange older brother would give her a gift.

She gently bit her lower lip, hesitated for a moment, then reached out and carefully took the gift box.

"Thank you, big brother," Astoria said happily, then rummaged through her pocket.

Finally, she found a bracelet and shyly handed it to Sean as a return gift.

It was a seemingly simple yet playful bracelet, strung with several colorful glass beads.

Just as Riddle was about to say something in the drawing room, an owl flew in from outside.

Riddle's gaze was instantly drawn to the owl that had suddenly appeared, carrying a clearly urgent message, its feathers still glistening with night dew.

After circling skillfully, the owl landed steadily on Greengrass's shoulder and spat a letter into his hand.

"This is... a letter from my daughter who attends Hogwarts." Seeing everyone's attention focused on him, Greengrass explained somewhat nervously.

He looked up, intending to secretly observe Riddle's reaction, but saw a dark green light shooting towards him.

It was a light he knew all too well, cold, cruel, and carrying an irresistible aura of death.

He knew what the curse was: the Killing Curse, a terrifying and inescapable killing spell.

In that instant, time seemed to stand still.

Greengrass's heart stopped beating, and his breathing became unusually heavy.

He closed his eyes, awaiting his impending death.

Countless images flashed through his mind, all of which would vanish in this moment.

However, after a few seconds, he did not feel any pain.

He slowly opened his eyes and found that his shirt back was soaked with sweat.

He froze, hardly believing his eyes. He looked down and saw that the owl that had been perched on his shoulder was lying on the ground, its feathers ruffled and its eyes vacant; it was clearly dead.

Greengrass felt a surge of nausea and fear wash over him.

Now... no one doubts the authenticity of Riddle anymore.

Aside from Voldemort, no one can cast the Killing Curse as easily as eating or drinking.

"Remember how you felt," Riddle said coldly. "That was your punishment for being distracted and unfaithful. Next time, if you dare to be even the slightest bit negligent, you know the consequences."

Before Riddle could give any instructions, Lucius strode up to Greengrass, snatched the letter from his hand, and presented it to Riddle.

When Sean returned to the reception room, the location of the factory and the division of labor among each family had been decided.

Before leaving, Riddle slipped the letter into Sean's hand.

Sean slowly unpacked it, a strange expression appearing on his face.

The letter came from Daphne.
