Chapter 197 Hellish Jokes

"Fill in this!"

"Tick it here."

"Five points is too much, isn't it? Four points will do."

"This deserves one point!"

When a distraught Percy returned to the common room, his ears were immediately filled with a cacophony of voices.

The sound surged in from every corner like a tide, filling the entire space.

He looked around and saw that everyone's face was flushed, and their red faces showed that they were extremely excited. In their hands, they were tightly holding a form.

There is no doubt that the form was the focus of their argument.

Percy leaned closer curiously, trying to see the contents of the form. It read:

[Hogwarts Staff Performance Evaluation Form]

【I. Teaching Attitude (20 points, maximum 5 points per column)】

1. Teaching and nurturing students: Serious teaching attitude; proper appearance; civilized behavior; strict organization and enforcement of classroom discipline; maintaining teaching order; attention to teaching by example; teaching and nurturing students, and being able to integrate ideas into education.

2. Teaching Discipline: Classes should not be arbitrarily rescheduled or canceled; classes must begin and end on time.

3. Organize teaching: Organize teaching diligently, provide effective tutoring and Q&A sessions, facilitate classroom discussions, carefully grade assignments, promptly collect teaching feedback, and improve teaching methods.

【4....

[Minerva McGonagall (to be filled in)]

Severus Snape (to be filled in)

Pomona Sprout (to be filled in)

Aurora Sinister (to be filled in)

Gilderoy Lockhart (to be filled in)

[Sybil Trelawney (to be filled in)]

Argus Filch (0 points)

This is indeed the student evaluation form that Wood mentioned in the Transformation class earlier.

What Percy didn't expect was that the form would be distributed to the students so quickly, causing such a sensation.

And... why is there a strange name mixed in here?

For most young wizards, giving Filch a zero score wouldn't require much thought.

This decision formed almost naturally in their minds; it was a consensus that needed no words.

Whenever the name Filch is mentioned, a series of unpleasant memories come to mind for the young wizards: his stern and cold gaze, his inhumanity towards his students, and his harsh attitude of always looking for opportunities to deduct points from their grades.

Therefore, when grading the professors, the specific scores of the other professors were put aside for the time being, and they tacitly agreed that Filch's score column should be filled with zero without hesitation.

Moreover... he didn't have any teaching assignments to begin with, so how can we talk about his teaching attitude?

Thinking about it this way, giving a zero score seems like a matter of course.

"Look, Percy, everyone's really into this." Just as Percy was thinking, Wood handed him the evaluation form, and at the same time, a heated discussion broke out again around the table by the fireplace in the common room.

"I mean, we're going to give Professor Sean full marks in this section," George said to Fred, who was sitting next to him, with a serious expression. Fred played along, frowning in confusion and asking in an exaggerated tone, "Which section?"

"Advanced nature." George pointed to the second subcategory "Advanced nature" in the second major category "Teaching Content" on the evaluation form (appropriate selection of teaching materials, and on this basis, attention to the latest research and development of the subject). "I have studied it carefully. The textbook for Muggle Studies, '100,000 Whys,' is the latest version published by the British Press last year."

"So, according to you, Binns Caspert should have gotten zero in one category?" Fred asked hesitantly.

Then, laughter erupted throughout the common room. The young wizards present were trying to suppress their laughter, their cheeks trembling slightly as they held back their laughter, turning bright red like ripe apples.

What a hellish joke.

For a moment, the entire common lounge was filled with a cheerful atmosphere.

As evening approached, the dim sunlight slanted into the corridors of Hogwarts, draping the ancient castle in a golden veil.

In this quiet moment, the three faculty members whose overall student evaluation scores were at the bottom were summoned to Sean's office.

Professor Snape, with a gloomy expression, stood at the front. His face was more somber than usual, his brows furrowed, and the corners of his mouth downturned.

Following closely behind him was Professor Lockhart, who had a broad smile on his face.

Unlike Snape's somber expression, Lockhart's smile was exceptionally bright, as if he had just won a great victory.

His eyes gleamed with excitement, and a smile revealed a row of white teeth. He occasionally adjusted his hair or collar, appearing quite pleased with himself.

At the very back was a bewildered Filch. He looked completely blank and confused, as if he had no idea why he was there.

His gaze darted around, sometimes looking at Snape, sometimes at Lockhart, then quickly lowering his head again. His hands were clenched tightly together, his fingers turning white from the force.

Filch's lips trembled slightly as he looked at Sean, who was buried in documents before starting his work, as if he wanted to say something, but he swallowed it all back down.

"What did you call us here for?" Snape's voice was cold and sharp, like a blade slicing through the silence of the room. His eyes were sharp as he stared directly at Sean, who was sitting at his desk.

Just then, Professor Lockhart suddenly interrupted, his face beaming with a confident smile and his eyes sparkling with smugness, as if he had already anticipated all the praise and glory to come.

"It's about the student evaluation form, isn't it?" Lockhart answered first, his tone full of pride. "I knew I got first place."

"After all, I am the most popular professor at Hogwarts. Students love my classes, and my teaching quality is unmatched." As he spoke, he deliberately tossed his meticulously styled blond hair, seemingly to show off his charm to everyone.

Upon hearing this, Sean slowly raised his head, his gaze shifting from the mountain of official documents to the three people.

He took a deep breath, seemingly to gather his thoughts, and then said with a hint of regret, "I called you here because the three of you ranked last in the faculty and staff survey."

The atmosphere in the room froze the moment Sean finished speaking. Lockhart's smug look vanished quickly, replaced by disbelief and embarrassment.

His eyes widened as if struck by lightning, his mouth slightly open, but he couldn't utter a word for a moment.

Snape raised an eyebrow slightly, a hint of mockery flashing in his eyes, but he quickly regained his composure. He seemed unsurprised by the outcome, simply waiting quietly for Sean to continue.

Filch looked bewildered. He rubbed his hands together, glanced uneasily at Lockhart, then at Sean, as if trying to confirm whether he had misheard.

"Yes, Professor Lockhart," Sean said with a hint of helplessness, "despite your popularity among students, the results of this survey show that your teaching quality and effectiveness have not met their expectations. Similarly, Professor Snape and Mr. Filch, you also have areas that need improvement."

Lockhart finally snapped out of his daze. He forced a smile, but it looked incredibly stiff. "How could this be? I must have been misunderstood. My classes are so interesting, how could the students not be satisfied?"

Sean sighed. "Professor Lockhart, popularity doesn't equate to high teaching quality. What we need are professors who can truly guide students, impart knowledge, and nurture them into excellent wizards. I hope you understand this and work with me to improve."

Lockhart was speechless for a moment.

Filch, standing to the side, felt a surge of sympathy and unease as he watched Lockhart's discomfiture.

He spoke slowly, his voice tinged with hesitation and uncertainty: "Principal Phillips, are you mistaken? I'm just a warehouse manager. I don't teach any students. Why am I here with these two professors...?"

Filch's eyes were filled with confusion and bewilderment; he was clearly baffled by all of this.

Snape, standing to the side, spoke coldly: "So, Headmaster, how do you plan to improve things? Give us training courses?"

Sean ignored Snape's sarcastic remarks and turned to Filch instead. "Mr. Filch,"

While you may not be directly involved in teaching, your work is still an integral part of the school's operations, influencing students' living and learning environment.

All of this is inseparable from your hard work. This survey also included an evaluation of the work of various positions within the school.

Upon hearing this, Filch frowned, appearing even more uneasy. "But I'm just a..."

Before Filch could finish speaking, Sean interrupted him, "Mr. Filch, please believe in yourself. Your energy far exceeds your imagination."

Sean then gestured for Filch and Lockhart to wait outside the door, as he wanted to speak to each of them individually.
