Chapter 186 He looked like a dog

Looking directly into Helena's beautiful eyes, Sean said sincerely, "Ms. Helena, I've been looking for you for a long time."

"Why are you looking for me?" Helena seemed a little confused.

She, who always kept to herself, had no idea what Phillips wanted to see her about.

"Dumbledore is gone." Sean sighed, then explained further, "You know, his departure is a huge blow to all of us. But more importantly, the school faces many new challenges and changes after he's gone."

He paused, then said with a righteous air, "In order to protect the ghosts from harm, the school has temporarily decided to place all the ghosts in the same location."

"This is to prevent a recurrence of a tragedy like Sir Nick's. The ghosts are also part of Hogwarts, and they too need our protection and care."

Helena's face changed color instantly upon hearing this.

As expected of Ravenclaw's daughter, Helena immediately grasped the crux of the matter.

A flicker of displeasure crossed her eyes, and her tone carried a hint of disbelief: "You mean...?"

Am I supposed to stay in the same room with Barrow the whole time?

At Hogwarts, no one knew about her past with Barrow the Blood. Years ago, Helena was so jealous of her mother Rowena's intelligence that she stole the crown and fled to Albania.

To cover up the fact that her daughter had stolen the crown, Rowena and the other founders lied and claimed that they had hidden their own crowns.

At that time, Reina fell seriously ill. In order to see her daughter one last time before she died, she sent Barrow, who had always been in love with Helena, to Albania to bring Helena back.

Barrow met Helena, expressed his love for her, and invited her to return to Hogwarts, but Helena refused. In a fit of rage, he killed her. After regaining his senses, he was overwhelmed with shame.

He committed suicide.

After their deaths, the two returned to Hogwarts as ghosts.

Thus, this hidden past was sealed away in the long river of history, and no third person ever knew about it again.

And now, a third person knows.

To be more precise, from the moment Sean traveled through time, this secret was no longer a secret.

Seeing the confused look on Sean's face, Helena realized that her reaction had been too strong, so she made an excuse and stammered, "Barrow: that guy, he always... has a gloomy face, looks so depressed, like the whole world owes him Galleons... being with him is like... being trapped in Azkaban, it's oppressive... and suffocating."

Although Sean had realized that Helena would be unhappy, he underestimated the rift between Helena and Barrow.

No wonder, this was a lifelong regret for both Rowena and Helena.

Wounds that time cannot heal will only grow larger with the passage of time.

This was also the first time Sean had seen Helena lose her composure. He hadn't expected that her usually cold and beautiful face, which seemed unmoved by anything, could display such rich and vivid expressions.

There's a unique kind of beauty in the contrast.

This was exactly the reaction Sean had hoped for.

If Helena doesn't react at all to the news that she'll soon be living under the same roof as Barrow, he really doesn't know how to get closer to her.

Sean's plan can be represented by a logic diagram from mathematics.

If Helena has no need, then create needs for her.

IF Helena has every need, and we will fulfill all of her needs.

In this world, those who are without desires are the most frightening.

Where there is desire, there will be flaws.

These flaws are precisely the best way for Sean to break through Helena's psychological defenses.

However, having these flaws is only the first step. What he needs to do next is to expand these flaws and apply them to reality to meet Hailian's needs.

Meeting Helena's needs is a more profound subject.

You can't let her think that doing this is too simple or too easy; nor can you let her feel that you're taking this too seriously.

The key is to find a good balance between the two.

So Sean feigned a troubled expression, trying to reassure Helena, "Ms. Helena, I understand how you feel, but these are special times, and we must take special measures..."

Before Sean could finish speaking, Helena impatiently interrupted him, "Who came up with such a stupid idea?"

Just thinking about the name Severus Snape in small font inside the parentheses at the bottom of that parchment...

Sean answered from the bottom of his heart, "It's Professor Snape."

A flash of anger crossed Helena's eyes, and her voice grew even colder: "Snape? He always has one reason or another to justify his decisions. But I ask you, has he ever truly considered the feelings of us Ghosts? Or is he simply lumping us all together for the sake of management?"

Helena's words were laced with obvious resentment, clearly indicating her dissatisfaction with the decision. Just as her indignation was about to ignite her reason, she seemed to remember something, forcibly suppressing her temper, and continued speaking.

"I understand the school's intention to protect us ghosts, but locking us all up together is not a good solution. We also have our own personalities and preferences, and we need our own space."

"So...you don't want to live in the same room as Barrow the Blood Man?" Sean asked bluntly. Helena hesitated for a moment, then looked into Sean's sincere eyes and nodded, admitting frankly, "Yes, I can't imagine living in the same room with him. Putting aside past grievances, his personality and emotions are too gloomy, and I can't stand that kind of atmosphere."

At this point, Helena's tone was somewhat helpless: "I hope the school can reconsider this decision."

At least give me a reasonable arrangement. As a Ravenclaw ghost, I'm willing to do my part for the school and the ghosts, but please forgive me for not being able to accept this method.

"Well then, Ms. Helena," Sean sighed heavily, as if making a difficult decision, "I can grant you certain privileges, allowing you to temporarily avoid sharing a room with the Blood Man Barrow, but—" He paused, seemingly searching for the most appropriate words.

"But what?" Helena asked hastily, her eyes filled with anticipation and a hint of barely perceptible tension.

"But I need you to do some things for the professors in exchange," Sean said slowly. "For example, you can patrol the campus at night with Professor Tonks to ensure safety. Also, you need to come to my office every night to report on your work and let me know you're safe. That way, I can feel a little more at ease."

Finally, Sean clutched his forehead in anguish, his eyes revealing deep worry and exhaustion. "I really don't want to see another tragedy happen on campus..."

"Okay." Helena pondered for a moment, then slowly nodded.

She would agree to any condition as long as she wasn't in the same room as the Blood Man Barrow.

Whenever she sees the blood-soaked Barrow, it reminds her of...

"separate?"

It was lunchtime when a gasp came from a washroom in Hogwarts Castle.

"Did I hear that right? What did you just say? Break up?" Percy's eyes widened as he stared at Penelope in surprise.

As class leaders of their respective colleges, it was perfectly reasonable for the two of them to obtain an off-campus pass while in their dormitory.

The two hadn't seen each other for two or three days because of the tense atmosphere at school and their busy work of calming down the young wizards in the academy.

He had originally planned to take this opportunity to spend some time together, but Penelope surprised him with a big surprise right from the start.

"Are you sure you just said break up?" Percy's voice was full of disbelief. He took a step forward, as if wanting to get closer to Penelope to prove that he really had misheard.

Penelope's eyes flickered with hesitation and struggle, but it was quickly replaced by determination. She took a deep breath and answered softly but clearly, "Yes, Percy, I meant breaking up. I think we need some time to calmly think about our relationship and what we really want."

Percy's face turned pale instantly. He shook his head incredulously, as if trying to shake the words he had just heard out of his head. "Why? Penelope, is it because you've been too busy lately? We can get through this together, just like before." His voice was full of pleading.

Looking into Persina's pleading eyes, Penelope felt a pang of sorrow well up inside her for some reason.

“It’s not because I’m busy, Percy,” she said softly, each word carefully chosen. “Our relationship isn’t as pure and simple as it used to be. We’ve both been living for our own expectations and forgotten why we started. I think we need to find our own paths, and maybe taking a break will be good for both of us.”

Percy fell silent.

He looked at Penelope, trying to find a hint of regret in her eyes, but Penelope's gaze was firm and calm.

He knew that once she made a decision, it would be difficult to change it.

"I understand." Percy forced a smile, his voice low and hoarse. "If you think this is the best decision, then I will respect it. But, Penelope, remember I'm always here. You can come back to me anytime you need."

After saying that, Percy left the bathroom.

However, at the corner of the bathroom door, he almost bumped into a little Slytherin witch.

Seeing the little witch's bewildered expression, Percy's face flushed red and then pale, a mixture of embarrassment and pain. "What did you hear?" Percy tried to remain calm, but the tremor in his voice betrayed his inner turmoil.

"I heard someone got dumped by their girlfriend," Daphne replied "honestly," just as Percy had hoped.

Percy's face paled further upon hearing this. He forced a bitter smile, wanting to say something, but ultimately just shook his head. He gave Daphne a deep look, his eyes filled with complex emotions, then turned and left, leaving behind only a desolate silhouette, as if all his strength had been drained away.

Just then, Penelope came out of the restroom, and Daphne leaned close to her ear and whispered, "Senior, you did a great job. He looks like a dog..."
