Chapter 370 Darkseid's Daughter, the Background and Aftermath (Please continue reading, sob sob)
After the outsiders, under Night Owl's orders, left their hideout and set off with the Supervillain Secret Society to rescue Nightwing, who was being hunted by the Court of Owls, Owl Cave was silent, with only Night Owl sitting there.
He sat alone in the chair, like a silent statue.
clack.
clack.
Immediately afterward, he heard the sound of footsteps on the ground. The shrewd detective knew from the sound that it was a woman, but the footsteps were so heavy, like a piece of living obsidian striking a smooth floor, giving off an inexplicable sense of oppressive pressure, like Darkseid, making one's hair stand on end.
Who is she?
Who could possibly appear here?
Appearing in the hiding place that the owl had carefully prepared for him, face to face with him?
In short, Night Owl stared at the woman who emerged from the shadows, and then watched as she stood before him.
"You pay far too much attention to Dick Grayson—"
"—Greel."
Night Owl interrupted Greer before she could finish speaking.
"I know what I'm doing."
The woman, whom the Night Owl called Greer, was dressed in typical Amazonian attire, but what was most striking were her skin, which, though not so obvious, still shimmered with a black sheen like obsidian, and her blood-red eyes.
Those were bloodthirsty, cruel eyes, devoid of pupils.
The owl met Greer's gaze without flinching:
"You think I don't find it suspicious? You think I haven't considered the possibilities you've thought of? But rather than leaving him out there and letting Batman become even more suspicious of us, it's better to keep him under our control."
Night Owl said, "There's nothing more harmless than a controlled spy. We can even give Batman fake news to mislead him."
Then Night Owl's gaze wandered, pausing in the direction the Outsider had just left: "Don't worry, our cooperation will never be discovered by Nightwing. I've even kept it from Alfred." (Note: The Outsider is Alfred, the butler from Earth-3.)
"That was for the best." Greer stared at the night owl for a moment, then said, "You'd better be aware of this, or I can't guarantee what might happen."
“Of course. If he finds you, I’ll snap his neck myself,” Night Owl said. “In my whole plan, you’re the only one who can get Darkseid and the Anti-Monitor at war. You’ll be the trump card hidden in the back, a non-existent ghost, and no one will be able to live after knowing you exist.”
He said, "I will never let my emotions cloud my judgment."
As he spoke, he saw Greer slowly retreat, disappearing into the darkness:
"Whatever, you'd better not require me to take action personally, Night Owl..."
She said, "Otherwise, I wouldn't mind sending you on your way when I do it. It might sound like a threat, but you know, I'm sorry, but letting you go is not something I can control."
"After all... I am Darkseid's daughter, bloodlust is etched into my very being, and I cannot escape it. To rid myself of it..."
"Unless Darkseid is completely murdered!"

……
……
Senesto left the small meeting room in Mongo.
He ignored the Sinestro Legion members bowing to him. He looked down on these recruits from the bottom of his heart; they were all scum and trash. But what Sinestro wanted to create was an era greater than the Green Lantern Legion.
He walked down the corridor into a dark dungeon, once used by the Kovardians of the antimatter universe to imprison their planet's prisoners, but now it held those who opposed the Yellow Lantern Legion, including, of course,...
"Among Su, how is your aunt?"
Senesto quickly found a Yellow Light Legion member standing at the door.
He had purplish-red skin and a burly build. His surname alone revealed a strong connection to Abin Sue, Sinestro's former mentor and the legendary Green Lantern who entrusted the Green Lantern ring to Hal Jordan.
That's right, Amon Sue is Abin Sue's biological son, and Abin Sue's sister, Arlene Sue, is Sinestro's wife. So Sinestro's wife is the Green Lantern's aunt.
Although Amonsu is Abinsu's son, he lived his entire life in the shadow of his father, the greatest Green Lantern.
Many years ago, when Amonsu had just come of age, he tried to get his father to use his connections to obtain a Green Lantern ring from the Guardians of the Universe so that he could also become a Green Lantern.
But Abinsu rejected this offer without hesitation. He rebuked Amonsu, demanding that he continue to train his body and temper his spirit.
He told Amonsu that he wasn't ready to become a Green Lantern.
At first, Amonsu didn't resent his father as many people thought. He genuinely believed he couldn't become a Green Lantern, so he redoubled his efforts to improve himself.
That's right, his father was the greatest Green Lantern of all time, how could his judgment be wrong?
However, as time went on, Amonsu repeatedly missed out on the green light ring despite his continuous efforts and failures.
He eventually fell into depravity, becoming a member of a cosmic criminal organization called the "Black Ring Crimes." His father, Abinsu, was completely unaware of this. Busy dealing with the prophecy of the Darkest Night, he spent his days with Atositas, the Lord of the Red Lanterns, eventually even taking him to Earth, which ultimately led to his own death.
—Then, after Abinsu's death, the most devastating and unacceptable thing happened to Ammonsu:
His father's ring did not choose him, but instead chose an Earthling named Hal Jordan, who took the ring for himself and stole the glory that should have been his.
He hated Hal Jordan with a vengeance, but deep down, Amonsu knew he could never wield a green light ring; he didn't have the willpower, and he knew his father was right.
But things are different now. Even if he can't become a Green Lantern, he might... still become a Yellow Lantern.
"Lord Senesto," Amonsu said, not trying to curry favor with Senesto, but speaking in a formal tone, "Lord Arlinsu still refuses to eat. I've been watching her, and she..."
"Go on," Senesto said, guessing what Amonsu dared not say aloud. His expression turned grim.
Amonsu took a deep breath.
"Lady Arlinssu wanted to commit suicide, and I have stopped her many times."
He spoke very quickly, "And I also gave Lady Arlinssu enough nutrient solution, so her life is not in danger, but she is suffering a great deal of mental distress."
Seneca's temples throbbed, and Amonsu knew this was a sign of his extreme anger.
He knew that his uncle was an unprecedentedly ruthless man. The insults and denials from others were like a gentle breeze to him, not worth taking to heart at all. But it was only when people he cared about, such as his aunt Arlins, opposed him that Senesto would truly fly into a rage.
"Lord Sinestro..."
"There's nothing going on with Lord Sinestro calling me uncle," Sinestro said coldly. "Come, come with me to see your aunt and see what she's up to."
The two of them walked together for a short distance and soon arrived at a luxurious prison. Even in this dark dungeon, the room was kept very clean, with thick soft padding on the walls and floor, and even the toothbrushes were soft, all to prevent prisoners from committing suicide.
Seneca's eyes twitched at the sight of the arrangements, and his anger burned even more fiercely.
Amonsu followed behind him with a bitter expression. All of this was his doing. After all, she was his aunt. He couldn't just use the Green Light Ring like Sinestro did when they disagreed and hang her up like a specimen.
Their marital conflict has gone far beyond the norm, turning into a clash of values and life ideals, which is beyond the scope of normal people's ability to mediate.
At this moment, Arlin Su lay quietly on the bed, looking like a lifeless corpse.
"Arlene."
With a creak, Seneca opened the door. He stood before his wife, looking down at her.
Upon seeing his wife alive and well, Seneca suddenly suppressed his anger.
He said softly:
"Amon told me that his aunt refused to eat and had been on IV fluids to stay alive for the past two days. So I came to see you... I know I'm sorry, our relationship is in trouble, but you shouldn't punish yourself like this."
Arlin Su on the bed did not respond.
She let out a series of sobs, almost as if she were about to suffocate.
"Arlene..."
"Don't call me that, don't talk to me like that!"
She suddenly exploded: "You dictator! The Green Lantern Corps will punish you!"
"Listen to me, Arlene Sue..."
"You harm all those who oppose you! You use force against innocent civilians, you destroy government institutions, and you substitute individual will for collective will!"
"Arlene..."
Arlins screamed loudly, clutching her head:
"My God, Sinestro, this is not peace, it's outright dictatorship! You even created the Yellow Lantern Legion, destroying the order of the universe. You are a complete madman, a villain!"
"Abinsu didn't punish me!" Senito roared as well. Amonsu, standing next to him, turned his head away, unsure whether he should leave or stay.
"Before telling Hal Jordan what happened, I told Abinsu what I had done!"
"He didn't support you!"
"He didn't oppose me!" Senito roared. "Abinsu tacitly approved of my actions, and everything I did was for the sake of my planet..."
"When Abin saw what you did, you weren't as ruthless as you are now. I once believed you, Sinestro. I explained to the people and the government that I had deceived them, that everything Sinestro did was for the betterment of the planet. But you've only dragged us all into the abyss!"
Senesto's face was ashen.
He knew his wife was right.
At the time, Abinsu neither explicitly opposed nor explicitly supported the idea. He merely appeared somewhat ambiguous, while Seneca's behavior then was much milder than it is now.
Even though his actions weren't as extreme back then, they still completely violated the Green Lantern Code. But he had always disapproved of some of the Green Lantern Corps' actions, so he acted according to his own ideas without any scruples.
Abinsu did not report him to the Green Lantern Corps, which gave Senesto a wrong impression and ultimately led him to make the wrong judgment.
Hal Jordan's initial dissatisfaction with the Guardians led Sinestro to believe that the latter shared his views. Therefore, he informed Hal Jordan of the situation in his territory, just as he had told Abinsu. He expected Hal Jordan to support him, or at least not interfere, but to his surprise, Hal Jordan went and reported him.
Sinestro dared not let Hal report the incident, but he also could not bring himself to kill Hal.
Hal Jordan's power is beyond imagination. Sometimes, even though everyone is a Green Lantern, the difference in strength between Green Lanterns is greater than the difference between species.
Sinestro originally thought he could easily handle Hal Jordan, but after actually taking action, he realized that it was not the case at all.
Although the opponent used the Green Lantern Ring for less time than I did, and was therefore utterly defeated by me, he was extremely resilient. Defeating him was easy, but killing him was very difficult.
This is very troublesome for Seneca.
In the comics, Arlinsou dies on the spot during Hal's rebellion, which causes Sinestro to lose his mind. He attacks Hal Jordan at all costs, single-mindedly wanting to kill him. However, his desire to kill leads him not only to fail to capture Hal Jordan, but also to let him escape.
Hal Jordan ran back to Oa, then summoned the entire Green Lantern Corps. Even the mighty Sinestro couldn't fight off such a large force and was captured. This is likely one of the rare instances in DC comics history where the entire Green Lantern Corps mobilized without being wiped out, and instead successfully achieved their objective. It also marked the beginning of the epic feud between Sinestro and Hal that would last throughout the Green Lantern Corps' history.
However, since Arlins didn't die in this timeline, Sinestro regained his senses and didn't let Hal Jordan escape like in the comics, allowing him to return to Oasha and bring back a large army to annihilate them. Instead, he trapped him, which bought him a lot of time, causing things to develop in a completely different direction.
After realizing he had been exposed, Sinestro made two preparations: first, he trapped Hal, and then he prepared to take the entire planet to the antimatter universe. But before that could happen, Genie A.E. approached him.
That's why he was wearing the yellow light ring at that moment.
